He leans in closer, then hikes his leg over so he's straddling me. "This can be added to my list of once-a-year sayings. But… I love you, Pierce Owen. More than I've loved anyone. Ever. I love being with you. You make me happy. But please, for the love of God, start picking up your towels off the bathroom floor or there will be a murder."

I laugh, tears welling in my eyes. I cup his face. "I love you, too. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. And now I can't wait for New Year's Eve and for you to do a reset and tell me all the things I love to hear."

He grins broadly. "You're a doofus."

"Correct." I brush my lips against his. "But I'm your doofus."

And with that, I tweak his nipple, he tickles my sides, and we fall into a fit of laughter as we wrestle each other off the couch and onto the floor like the two completely immature doofuses that we are.

SNEEK PEEK AT HEART UNBROKEN

ROVE

Five years ago, we had a fleeting connection. Instant attraction, sizzling chemistry, and scorching-hot sex.

It was only brief, but it was…everything.

Then my career takes off. I become one of the biggest openly out Hollywood A-listers. I'm on top of the world—rich, famous, and successful.

Until a cruel red carpet gotcha stunt blows my life apart. In the blink of an eye, I lose everything I've spent two decades working and sacrificing for.

I've got no one to turn to and nowhere to go… Except back to the man I met five years ago.

LEO

Five years ago, I met someone unforgettable.

He made me feel something I thought I'd lost forever. Something that died with my beloved Dante a decade earlier.

I never expected to see Rove again. When he returns, the spark, the chemistry, the connection, is right where we left it five years ago. Actually, it's only intensified.

The more time we spend together, the clearer it becomes—there's no way I can let him go again. Can we find a way to make it this time?

Chapter 1

Five years ago…

Rove

The sun beats down as I watch Marlon and Hayley play some one-on-one basketball. I smile, cheering them on from the sidelines. I've been coming to the center a few times a week ever since Josiah opened the place four years ago.

I let out a sad breath. Today will be my last visit.

It's starting to hit me how much I'm going to miss this place and these kids. Besides acting, it's the only time I feel alive. Like I'm making a difference.

They run over when they're finished. "Great game, guys." I give Hayley a high five and exchange backslaps with Marlon. They race inside, flying past Josiah as he steps out onto the court.

"You're so great with them." He motions for me to throw the ball to him. This is his place—the California LGBT Homeless Coalition, a nonprofit that provides shelter and refuge to teens and young people living on the streets. It's the third center he's opened. His goal is to one day have ten across the state.
