Under my nose!

Yes!

Jace was literally a Good Samaritan when he saved me on the street. But there’s a mystery about him.

So, why not Jace?

I pull my computer toward me and start typing everything I can think of with my excited Jace-infused brain.

I’ll observe him, copy his habits and behavior, which will make it so much easier to build a believable character. He’ll never know.

The words have never spilled easier.

“A mysterious roommate. An instant attraction. Dark secrets that turn her life upside down,”I type like mad.

Yes, yes, and yes!

I kick my feet in the air in excitement.

Jace Reed, welcome to my writing world!

JACE

Beingin Goldsling Towers feels like a dream. The luxury condo. The shady assignment. Lucy Moor…

My breath hitches in my throat when she walks out of her room in the morning.

She doesn’t notice me sitting on the edge of the living room couch and texting.

Good job, I tell myself for wearing the stupid glasses—gotta keep the humble appearance, right?

Without makeup, Lucy’s brows and lashes are light. She’s a natural blonde, floating like an angel between the living room and the kitchen, wearing only a T-shirt that barely covers her butt.

Fuck my life.

My body stiffens, my eyes glued to her as I’m lost for words.

Yep, this is my roommate.

Lucy in the daytime is even more charming, her hair pulled into a thick braid.

I’m not really shy around pretty girls, just not sociable. But none ever made me feel like someone is slowly pulling the rug from under my feet.

I catch a peek of candy-blue booty shorts barely visible under her T-shirt and exhale in relief, then curse at the fact that I was watching her butt.

This is going to be complicated.

I clear my throat, and she finally notices me.

“Jace!” Her bright-blue eyes widen in delight.

She’s the friendliest person I’ve ever met and the most humble pretty girl. No, not just pretty. She’s like a fairy in a fantasy movie. A princess, maybe.

“Hey there,” I say, managing a smile and fixing the stupid glasses that keep sliding down my nose.

She grins. “How’s life, roomie? Do you like the place?”
