“What?” Esme said, clearly being playful. “Seriously? Daddy! I’m shocked!”

“You know, some Daddies smack their Littles for sarcasm.”

“Eeek. Do you?”

“Not currently,” he grinned. “The point is, I’m attracted to you. I want to explore a romantic relationship with you. But I want to do it responsibly. And that means taking it slow.”

“Uggggghhhh,” she groaned. “Slow is boring. I like it fast.”

Damn, it would be so good to fuck her. She wanted it. He wanted it. He could be inside her within minutes.

No Rainer. That’s not the way. You know it’s not the way.

“I know it’s frustrating. For both of us. But I promise you that this is going to get intense, and we don’t want to throw extra vulnerability into the mix. Understand?”

She nodded, looking serious.

“Good. Now, I want you to write down things that you love.”

“Easy peasy.”

“And I want you to write down the things that you’re scared of. And the reasons that you’re scared of them. This way, it’ll be easier than talking to me about them.”

Instantly, Esme’s face was full of anxiety. “I don’t know if I can.”

“Do you want to try?”

Rainer had hoped that Esme might be alright doing this. If she wasn’t, though, he had another trick up his sleeve.

“I can try the things I love first.”

“Sure.”

He watched her as she started to write, her tongue occasionally poking out her mouth with the effort of it. Her handwriting was sweet, neat, and considered, and she took her time with every letter. Each word and sentence filled his heart with happiness.
