“I haven’t, but maybe they’re not quite as bad as I thought.”

She chuckles, then forgives me for knocking the powder to the ground when I lean over to put my phone back down on my dressing table. Mary is getting used to my mishaps, though. She simply laughs and gives her head a little shake.

“I’ve already agreed not to use it. You didn’t have to break it.”

I stare at the little container on the floor. “I didn’t break it! It was closed.”

“Lucky, that,” she says. “Chin up, darling. We’ve only got a few more minutes, and I can’t curl your hair properly if your neck is bent at that angle.”

True to her word, a few minutes later, my hair is done, and my dress is on. After I’ve slid a pair of two-inch block-heeled shoes onto my feet (Mary is catching on!), a knock sounds from the door. Mary wishes me luck before letting Wolf in as she leaves.

The charming blond Lord grins when he sees me, looking like a superhero with his long hair loose and a well-tailored suit hugging every muscled inch of his body. He lets out a low wolf whistle as he looks me over.

“Mads, thank fuck we’ve got you tonight. I’ve been looking forward to this dinner all my life. You’re breathtaking. Ravishing. Let’s go give my brothers blue balls, shall we?”

“Should you be down here?” I ask, trying to hide my blush, peering down the hall to see the other Omegas whispering. “They’ll see.”

“I wish I could say this escort is a courtesy only afforded to you, darling, but every group dinner date gets a royal escort.”

He leans in conspiratorially. “But yours is the only one we had to draw straws for to avoid a full-out brawl.”

My mouth drops open, and I flush ever fucking harder.

We haven’t gone horse riding again, but we’ve been on a few walks and we played croquet the other day. I shouldn’t feel thiselectricaround Wolf still, but I do. I do every time he’s close to me. I hope it never goes away. Not for as long as I’m here.

Wolf is…fun. I imagine his boundless energy could get exhausting, but I’m lying to myself if I think I could ever tire of him.

For now, I plant my hand firmly in his outstretched one and do the little twirl he prompts me into. “That mouth is going to get you in trouble, Von Damme.”

“Nah, but it could get you off.”

I laugh. “Don’t make promises you can’t keep.”

Wolf spins me right into his chest, and heat flickers in those blue eyes as he winks at me. “Oh, I can keep it. Want me to prove it to you?”

Yes!“No, you said something about brothers and blue balls?”

I’m acutely aware of the other Omegas in the hall watching us. I clear my throat. “Shall we?”

“Of course.” He purses his lips in mock disappointment but then takes my arm and escorts me to their quarters for dinner.

When we arrive, I’m surprised to find Tai and Kaz sitting at the bar with four empty shot glasses lined up, a bottle of tequila at the ready, and their ties already off.

“I see we’re doing away with the formal dinner tonight,” he says appreciatively and then gives a whoop before loosening his own tie and waving it in a circle above his head before letting it go. “Thank fuck. These things feel like damned nooses.”

It lands at Kaz’s feet, but the prince doesn’t bend over to retrieve it. Instead, he looks at me like he’s never seen me before, his dark gaze roving over my face until it sticks to my exposed freckles. “Perfect,” he murmurs. “I hope you don’t mind, but we’re going with a more informal dinner this evening. We’re doing Mexican food.”

“Are we having enchiladas? Please tell me we’re having enchiladas.” I kick off my shoes like I’m actually comfortable here, but since they’ve all lost their ties, I figure being barefoot is okay. “I could settle for tacos, too. Maybe some nachos with pico and guac?”

“Told you she’d like it,” Kaz says, giving Tai a shove.

“All of the above,” Tai informs me as I sit down next to him. He doesn’t reach for me, doesn’t lean in to kiss me or anything quite as obvious as that, but the way he glances at my lips lets me know he’s thinking about our kiss right now too. “How was your day?”

“It was great.” I motion at the big, supposedly bad boy prince. “Our Kaz came through. My parents are here. Isn’t that amazing?”

“Our Kaz,” Tai muses. “I like the sound of that.”

Wolf’s eyes are like the hottest of flames as he goes to join Kaz at the other side of the bar and looks back at me. “Why do I suddenly feel like you’ve spent a lot more time with these idiots than you have with me? I’m usually the only one who’s this comfortable when the Omegas are around.”
