Suddenly, I’m an aroused, flustered mess.

“There’s sadism…” He hesitates briefly, inching his other hand up my leg. “Deriving pleasure from inflicting pain on others.”

My heart races.

“Then there’s masochism,” he says, his fingertips grazing my inner thigh. “You take pleasure in receiving pain.”

“No,” I try to say, until he buries his fingers deeper through my hair, applying more pressure.

I give in to the feeling, washed over by pure bliss, as my endorphins take over. Squirming in the stool, I try to convince myself that he’s wrong. Although, my heavy breathing, quiet moans, and flushed skin say otherwise.

“There will be no more limiting my needs,” he murmurs, caressing my thigh. “I’ll show you who I really am, all while giving you what your heart desires.”

Swallowing hard, I look deeply into his eyes. “You don’t scare me.”

He kisses my neck, trailing his warm lips along my jaw, before hesitating beside my ear.

“Not yet,” he whispers.

The house isdark and quiet as we step inside. Exhaustion overwhelms me, and I’ve never been more jet lagged. After kicking off my heels, I make my way to the living room, feeling Jaxon’s presence close behind me.

The moment I begin to walk up the stairs, he takes my wrist, and turns me to face him. Standing on the bottom step, I lift my head to meet his gaze, and there’s such heat behind his eyes.

He reaches up to lightly stroke my cheek, and cups my face, before pressing his lips against mine.

A soft, lingering kiss, so sensual that it leaves my world spinning recklessly. My body dissolves against his, as my lips part, and his tongue brushes mine.

My heart swells in my chest, and my stomach flutters. Standing on my tiptoes, I grip his shirt and pull him closer, breathing in the scent of his heady cologne.

He wraps an arm around my lower back, and his hand slowly trails up my spine. Gripping the back of my neck, he tips my head up, deepening the kiss.

Suddenly, our lips part, and he rests his forehead against mine, holding me close.

Drawing back my head, I stare deeply into his eyes, shocked from the intensity of this moment.

“Goodnight Jax,” I softly say, turning away.

He pulls me back to him, my hands pressed against his wide chest. Devouring me with his gaze, his breathing becomes labored.

“Sleep with me?” he asks.

His question steals the air away from my lungs, as I carefully search his eyes.

Noticing my hesitation, he cups the side of my face and lightly strokes my cheek.

“I know what you’re thinking,” he says, and the memory of the morning at the cabin replays in my mind. “That will never happen again. I promise you that tonight is different.”

I blink up at him with uncertainty, locking my fingers around his wide wrist.

“I want to fall asleep with you in my arms, and I want you to still be in them when I wake up.” He leans down, his lips mere inches from mine. “Sleep with me, Sasha.”

As speechless as can be, I nod.

Gently taking my hand, he walks me to his room. The silence is deafening, and my heart is pounding.

Shutting the door behind us, his room is dark, except for the faintest amount of moonlight shining in through the window. Lifting me bridal style in his arms, he strides across the room and lowers me onto the bed.
