The resort had five towers, and they were staying in the one called The Rainbow Tower. Their room had a beautiful beachfront view and a balcony with a small table and chairs. Cal drew her into his arms. “We have five whole days to explore and relax. I can’t wait. We’ve been working so hard these past few months, what with buying the house and moving in—”

“And all of the wedding preparations,” she said with a grimace.

He chuckled. “Yeah, I know that was a lot for you.”

“But did you see how happy Mom was to have all our family and friends there? And everything went perfectly.” She sighed. “But I have to admit, I never want to go through something like that again.”

He grinned. “Hey, you’d better not go throughanythinglike that again!”

She chuckled. “I won’t. I promised you forever, and I mean that, husband.” She stood on her tiptoes and gave him a slow, sensual kiss.

His body responded immediately. “Mm, I love the way you kiss, darlin’.”

She patted his butt. “That’s all for now, handsome. I need me some beach time.”

“I wonder how the beach compares to Padre Island. Is it sandy and smooth like North Padre?” he said as he started getting undressed.

“I don’t know, but I hope so. I’ve been dreaming about this ever since we planned our honeymoon.”

She disappeared into the bathroom to freshen up and change.

He quickly undressed and put on his swim trunks, then went out onto the balcony to look at the view, noting that they’d need to take their towels to lie on as the hotel didn’t have lounge chairs along the beach. They’d go right in, anyway—the pristine ocean looked so inviting.

He stepped back inside and surveyed the room. Even though it had two matching easy chairs, a large dresser, and a desk and office chair, the king room was very spacious, and its glass wall and white bedding made it bright and cheerful. They certainly wouldn’t be cramped.

Vic came out of the bathroom in a royal-blue bikini, and he sucked in a breath. He smiled and reached for her. “I’m the luckiest man in the world, sweetheart.”

She put her arms around his neck. “I’m the lucky one, you big hunk. Look at you in these trunks. I used to wonder how you looked so fit. Now I know you work out every morning, just not at a gym.”

“I never know where I’m going to be so, having a workout regimen that I can do anywhere works for me.”

She ran her hand across his abs, sending tingles racing across his belly.

He said, “I have some equipment at home, and that helps too.” Then he kissed her long and slow, savoring her minty taste. She must have brushed her teeth.

She drew back, “Don’t try to distract me, handsome. Get your beach towel and come on.”

He laughed. “You’re dead set on that ocean, woman.”

“I am, but don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about tonight.”

They’d been exhausted by the time they’d arrived at home the night before, so they’d decided to make their special honeymoon night their first evening in Hawaii.

He grabbed his towel and followed her out the door.

They stopped at a store in the Rainbow Bazaar and bought bottled water to take with them, then wandered out to the beach. They soon found a spot and set down their belongings.

Vic popped him on the butt. “Come on, cowboy, let’s hit the water!” Grabbing his hand, she jogged down to the edge, where tiny waves lapped at the beach. “I wonder if they have seashells here.” Wading in, she looked up at him. “Keep an eye out, huh? I’d like a souvenir that doesn’t come from a gift shop.”

“Sure thing. I just hope it won’t hurt if I step on it.”

She grinned. “Come on, you sissy. Follow me.”

“Sissy? Why, you!” He picked her up and walked out into deeper water.

She laughed and clung to his neck. “Don’t you dare throw me in!”

When the water was waist-high, he gently set her down. “Since you asked so nicely...”
