We chatted the entire way down to Key West, and Krissy gave me the directions to get to Erin’s condo. It wasn’t too difficult to find, but I had to admit, I was a little surprised.
“I thought you said they had money,” I commented.
“They do,” Krissy replied, looking at me with raised eyebrows.
“I just figured if they did, they would choose to live in a nicer place. Not that there’s anything wrong with this one, but I was expecting a bigger or more solitary location,” I replied with a shrug.
“I don’t think that’s Erin,” Krissy said. “Just wait until you get to know her. She’s not really one for the flashy stuff. Besides, they want to be within walking distance of the schools so Libby can walk to school.”
“Fair enough,” I said as I parked.
We got out of the car and headed to the door, where we were let inside by the same young woman I’d met on the video chat. The girls embraced, then Krissy quickly introduced us once again, this time face-to-face.
“I don’t know, it just feels weird to not do the introductions,” Krissy said with a laugh. “I mean, you two met, but not really.”
