“Sure. There’re usually a few people that hang out on set.” His moans, drawing my attention. He’s licking syrup off his lips, slowly and seductively. All the while smirking, knowing exactly what he’s doing.

“I’m not sure it’s such a good idea…” My protest is being waved away before I can finish.

“I understand why you’re nervous, but I’ve already taken care of her.” Without voicing my reservations, he reads me easily. “I called my people and told them what happened with Sarah and that I wasn’t doing the film with her. They’re taking care of the situation before I arrive today.” His satisfied smirk doesn’t conceal the annoyance blazing in his eyes. He’s pissed at her for what she did to me and probably still holds resentment for cheating on him.

“Okay. This ought to be fun.” I sigh and lean back against his chest. “I’m so full. Thanks for breakfast.”

“You’re welcome.” He kisses the top of my head. “Well, you better get ready. We have to be on the set in less than two hours.”

I jump off the bed and begin rummaging through my clothes. What do you even wear to a movie set? Finally, I decided not to stress and go with a casual sundress. The neck is low cut, white, mixed with swirls of green, yellow, and black lines. A built-in black belt tightens my waist, which matches bands of black on top of each shoulder, crimping the strap together.

“I’ve got to hop in the shower really quick. You want to hop in with me?” I offer teasingly over my shoulder.

His eyes narrow, internally debating. “Don’t tempt me, Kitten. We’re going to swing by the hotel to get extra clothes, so we don’t have time for play.”

“Okay, I’ll hurry. But you should bring an extra set of clothes to keep here too, just in case you need them.” I offer as I enter the bathroom and shut the door.

After showering, shaving, and misting myself with my favorite pear perfume, I slide into my dress and assess myself in the mirror. I forgot how much I loved this dress. It clings in all the right places, accentuating my womanly figure.

I step out of the bathroom and toss my dirty clothes into the hamper. Jaxton’s lounging across my bed, his arms tucked behind his head. He’s dressed, sans shoes, whistling quietly to himself. The low melody cuts off when he notices me in the room.

His gaze devours me from head to toe, twice, before meeting my eyes with fire and hunger. “You look scrumptious, Kitten.” He twirls his finger in the air, gesturing to spin. The dress fans out as I grant his request, the air catching beneath the soft fabric. “Yep, absolutely gorgeous, just as I thought.” I blush and bite my bottom lip. A silly flutter engulfs my stomach when he pays me such compliments.

He stands from the bed and steps forward, gripping my hips on either side and dropping his forehead to mine. He molds his body against me and sways, humming a beautiful tune under his breath. “You know… I’d love to take you out dancing. You want to go tonight?”

“I don’t really know how to dance.” I admit, trying to hide the redness staining my cheeks.

His knuckles chuck my chin, tilting my gaze up to the laugh dancing in his eyes. “Kitten, trust me, you’ve got moves. And the ones you don’t have, I’ll just have to teach you.” Suddenly, I’m spun out and pulled back in, and then dipped. My body reacts to his commands without my permission, causing my breathing to speed.

“I think I’d like that.” My cheeks tint further to the breathlessness of my words.

We sway in our silent dance for a few more moments, the growing bulge between us becoming more prominent the longer we cling together. I don’t want to be the reason he’s late to work the first time I go to the set.

“We better get going if you want to have time to change. You can’t go to work in the same clothes as yesterday. What women would they think I am?” I giggle and dance off into the living room. He follows me, his deep stare focused on my undulating body, as he pulls his shirt on, covering his beautifully sculpted abs.

“I’ll drive.” He snags his keys, and we set off for the hotel.

The building looms over us as we pull into the parking lot of the Riverfront Hilton. Newly renovated, the oldest hotel in the area looks as elegant as it must have on opening day. I’ve lived in the area my entire life, but never had a reason to go into an upscale hotel. The idea of Jaxton being a movie star is going to take time getting used to. He probably frequents many establishments just like this one.

“We should watch one of your movies.” A smile takes over my face at the sudden thought. “I haven’t seen any of them yet.”

He gives me a funny look, almost bashful. He opens his mouth, as if to speak, but then closes it again.

The idea was supposed to be funny, but his hesitation is concerning. “We don’t have to. It was just a thought.” I offer an out, shrugging, unsure of his sudden change in demeanor.

“It’s not that I don’t want to watch them with you. It’s that you know the real me, outside of the ‘movie star’. I guess I’m nervous about your reaction.” He gestures between us. “People treat me differently once they know I’m an actor.”

I’m not sure if I should be offended or take his confession as a compliment. “I’d hope you know I’m not that type of person by now. The only reason I suggested it was because I thought it’d be fun. If it helps, I was going to point out your flaws and make fun of you the entire time.”

He locks his eyes with mine, reading my body language. I can still see the worry plaguing his thoughts. “I’m worried you’ll see me differently.” His insecurity is not because of me, but because of his experiences. They’ve obviously left a dark mark on his heart.

“You think I’d do that? I’m already madly in love with you. Why would it matter that you’re an actor? You know I don’t care about that kind of stuff.”

A beautiful smile replaces the worry lines creasing his forehead. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t make comparisons with you. You’re nothing like anyone I’ve ever met. Hence the reason I am madly in love with you, too.” A blush crawls up my neck and cheeks.

“This is going to get hairy.” His words confuse me until he points to the hotel. “I want to explain what this will be like.”

“What, what is going to be like?” I glue my eyes to the front entrance. There’s probably a good thirty people standing by the door; some have large cameras, like the media, and others have phones, which I assume are fans.
