I eventually moved to my side, putting Dexen back between us so we could both touch and caress him. He started shaking, this time for a different reason.

Hot tears dropped to my neck where he pressed his face. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have… I didn’t know how to… Fuck.”

“You’re all right, Dex,” I told him, drawing soothing circles over his thigh. His leg was still wrapped around me. My cock had softened, slowly slipping from inside him.

Greer kissed Dexen’s shoulder. “You have nothing to apologize for.” He took Dexen’s hand in his and laced their fingers together.

“I should have been here with you both. I can’t lose you, either of you. I won’t survive it.”

“We’re not going anywhere,” Greer said softly.

Placing my cheek on Dexen’s head, I wrapped my arm around him and held him tight. “We’re never letting you go. You hear me? We’re. Never. Letting. You. Go.”

Dexen sniffled and nodded against me.

He broke tonight. I didn’t want to see his tears, feel them against my skin. I wanted him to know he was cared for, loved. That we were here. But if this was what it took for him to finally come around and accept us, I’d take it. I’d take everything he had to give.

DEXEN

Now that my proverbial walls had been obliterated, I was doing better with Greer and JJ. I wouldn’t say I was suddenly a wealth of affection, but I didn’t hide from them. I didn’t stay away. The past two weekends we spent together at my home instead of the fortress. We wanted our space from Peyton, Dominic, and Junior.

During the week, JJ and Greer went to PJS, I went to the club. We’d meet at night if we could, but it wasn’t always easy, especially since JJ still had his shop to run and I had the club. Xaiden came and went but as more time passed and no one else tried to break into my home, he went back to running his businesses and his solitary lifestyle. I wished he would let someone in again, let someone love him. I was a huge hypocrite for thinking it since I struggled with getting together with JJ and Greer. My brother deserved all the happiness in the world.

It was Monday morning, and I was getting ready to head into work. I had to stop at the estate first and go over a few things, so I needed to get my ass out the door earlier than usual. I tended to stay up late, thanks to the club, then sleep in to make up for it. Not this morning.

My phone vibrated on the bathroom counter while I was brushing my teeth. A text in the group chat I had with JJ and Greer.

Greer: Dinner tonight. Nice jeans and shirt. Nothing too fancy. Meet at Dex’s at 8.

I liked that he wasn’t asking. He’d grown more confident with us.

Me: We’re going on a date?

It was obvious we were, but I wanted to confirm. This would be our first one.

Greer: We are.

JJ: Do I get a boutonniere?

Greer: No, but if you’re good you’ll get my ass at the end of the night.

JJ: Way better than a boutonniere.

I laughed and completely agreed.

Me: Where are we going?

Greer: It’s a surprise.

My phone rang with a group video call.

I answered, propping my phone on the counter so I could finish brushing. I gave them a smile full of toothpaste. “Morning.”

“It’s almost eleven,” Greer said. “We’ve been working for hours.”

I rinsed out my mouth, picking up the phone when I was done to carry them into my bedroom. I still had to get dressed. “Yeah, well I was up late like usual.”
