Finally, that thought knocks some sense into me as I pull away, shaking my head. “What the fuck are you doing?”

He smirks. “What am I doing? You’re the one that grabbed my hair, Adrianna. Don’t act like you didn’t enjoy it.”

I grunt in frustration and dive into the water, swimming away from him toward the steps at the far end as fast as I can.

When I get to the steps, I’m glad to find that he isn’t chasing me. Instead, he watches me in silence as I get out of the water and grab a towel.

The likelihood of getting dry and dressed before he gets out of the pool is slim, but I still try hard.

“You can’t just run away like that,” he says, closer to me than I’d like him to be.

I pull my dress on and zip it up as far as I can. “You’re getting on my nerves, coach.”

His hand wraps around my wrist and he yanks me into him, piercing chestnut eyes glaring at me. “Listen to me, baby girl. You can’t go around kissing a man like that one minute and then turning cold the next.”

I tilt my head. “A kiss means nothing.”

His jaw works. “Not in my books.” And then, before I can register what he’s doing, his lips are on mine again. His huge, rough hands groping my ass as he pulls me tightly against him.

He’s still soaking wet, making my clothes wet as his tongue thrusts into my mouth, turning me into red-hot cinders. The passion is enough to make me explode and I wish I didn’t enjoy it so much.

Forcing myself to my senses, I break away from him and turn around. “Stop this. I don’t want you and never will.” I rush out of the room as fast as I can, my heart pounding frantically.

Coach Daniels is insane the way he keeps pursuing me, but that kiss made me think, what the hell?

A dangerous thought indeed, as he’s the last man I want to lose my virginity to. That teaches me to never go anywhere with Coach when I’m drunk.

ARCHER

I’ve been dreading this night, mainly because I know Adrianna will probably dance with other guys to piss me off.

There’s no denying the chemistry between us, especially after we kissed in the pool on the rooftop of that bar. She was into it as she pulled me closer, kissing me back like her life depended on it.

And then she broke away and fled the scene as if nothing happened, leaving me with blue balls.

“Hey, are you ready?” Gav asks, clapping me on the shoulder. His eyes roam down my suit. “Looking very sharp tonight. Trying to impress someone?”

I narrow my eyes. “Don’t be an asshole, Gav.”

He chuckles. “Still having trouble with Vasquez?”

“I’ll get her to break, believe me.”

Gav’s brow arches. “That’s the kind of thing I’d say, not you.”

I shrug. “Adrianna drives me crazy.”

“Careful with girls like that. It’s best to steer clear of any girl that you want that badly.”

Gav sounds like he’s speaking from experience, but I doubt it. In the years I’ve known him, he’s never once had a girlfriend. At least, not that I’ve known of. I’m not entirely sure he’s capable of having a normal relationship.

“I know what I’m doing,” I say, as I turn around to grab my flask off the counter. “Hope you came prepared.” I hold the flask up.

He arches a brow and then reaches into his inside jacket pocket for his. “Of course. They don’t serve hard enough alcohol at this thing for me.”

I nod, as all that is on offer is beer and watered down wine and beer, as well as a very weak punch. Oak reckons allowing alcohol to be consumed actually makes the students less likely to get drunk.
