“On three okay?”

We both nod, watching each other intently.

“One. Two. Three!”

I bring the beer to my mouth and chug it as fast as physically possible for me, but somehow Adrianna slams the glass down a good few seconds before me.

“Have that!”

“Motherfucker,” I growl, hating that I got beat by her.

“I’m afraid Adrianna is the winner,” Oak announces, smirking at me, which only makes me more angry.

I’m ready to claim Adrianna right here in front of everyone, humiliate her the way she humiliated me.

Adrianna smirks at me, but she won’t be smiling later when I force her to open her legs for my cock. “I told you no one can beat me.”

“You’re particularly cocky tonight, Adrianna.”

Oak chuckles. “She beat you. She has a reason to be cocky, doesn’t she?

“Whatever.”

Gav stands suddenly. “I’m getting another drink. Anyone need one?”

“Get a round in on my tab,” Oak says.

The rest of the night is kind of uneventful until the question of leaving comes up. I lean toward Adrianna. “You won’t be leaving with Oak, do you understand? Tell them you’ll stay with me and Gav.”

Her nostrils flare. “Or what?”

“It’s a silly question, you know what?”

She sighs heavily.

“Adrianna, are you ready to go?” Camilla asks.

Adrianna shakes her head. “No, I think I’ll stay a bit longer. You guys go ahead and I’ll get a cab back with Professor Nitkin and Coach.

Eva looks confused by Adrianna’s refusal to head back to the academy. “Are you sure?”

She nods. “Yeah, I’ll finish up my drink and head back with these guys.”

“Okay, see you tomorrow then?” Camilla says.

“Yeah, see you tomorrow.”

Oak, Eva, and Camilla leave. Gavril looks a little irritated being left here with me and Adrianna as he watches the other three leave.

A tense silence falls between us. After a few minutes, Gav stands. “Well, this is thrilling,” he says, “But I’ve got to admit I’ve had enough fun for one night.”

Adrianna tips the contents of her drink back. “I think I’ll go back with you.”

I grab her wrist and yank her back down. “No, we’ll go back together in a moment.”

Gav gets the hint. “Right, I’ve got some unfinished business to attend to in town before I head back, anyway.” He leaves us alone in the bar.

Adrianna glares at me hatefully. “You’re a real asshole, you know?”
