Professor Nitkin approaches, clearing his throat. “Am I interrupting something?”

The sound of his friend’s voice seems to snap him out of his violent daze as he releases my throat. “Not at all.” It’s like he changes at the flick of a switch once his friend appears.

“Our Uber is here,” Professor Nitkin says, his eyes darting between me and Archer. “Are you ready?”

Archer’s jaw flexes as he clenches it. “Sure. Just give me one moment.”

Nitkin looks reluctant about walking away, but doesn’t question him.

He grabs my wrist. “If I see or hear that you’ve been within five fucking feet of that boy again, I’ll kill him. Do you understand?”

I shake my head. “Do you think I care what you do to Nik Kushev?”

“No, because you were using him to get to me.”

“You are so vain.” I yank my hand from his grasp. “Not everything is about you, Archer.”

He’s right, of course, but I can’t let him know that. Not if I want my plan to work. Archer can’t know that I’m trying to break his heart or he’ll make sure it doesn’t happen.

“Be at my apartment by eleven o’clock or I will come and find you.” He turns around and walks over to Professor Nitkin, who was watching us intently. I watch him as he gets into the cab and drives away, wishing I could stand up to him.

Although my home life has always been fraught with discipline, at the academy, I’ve done what I want when I want. And Coach is taking that away from me. It makes me hate him more.

ARCHER

“What are you doing for Spring Break?” I ask, while gently running my finger in circles on Adrianna’s soft, tanned skin.

“I told my father I’m not coming home.” Adrianna shrugs. “Eva wants me to stay here, and I agreed.”

“And your father accepted that?” I find it hard to believe that Adrianna can dictate what she does, especially since she mentioned he wanted her home a week earlier to meet a potential suitor for marriage.

Adrianna shakes her head. “He didn’t oppose it, so I guess.”

“What happened to the suitor?” I ask.

“Oh, I think he had a falling out with the father of the guy he was going to marry me off to. My father makes enemies faster than he makes friends.”

I chuckle. “I know the type.” My fingers dance over her skin lightly and she shivers. “So we can spend some time together then,” I say, thankful that Adrianna isn’t leaving for Spring Break. The last thing I want is to spend any time away from her.

She shakes her head. “I’ve got plans with Eva.”

“Not for the entire two weeks. Oak is only away for one of those weeks.” I brush my fingers lightly over her bare breasts and her nipples harden instantly.

“Archer,” she says my name in a breathless voice that drives me wild. “Not again.”

I smirk. “Can’t handle it?”

We’ve been in bed since eleven o’clock last night fucking and then sleeping. It’s now almost eleven o’clock in the morning on a Saturday, and I’m still hungry for her.

She draws in a deep breath. “If I don’t get out of here before lunch, my friends will get suspicious. There’s no way I’d ever miss breakfast and lunch.”

I arch a brow. “You still have an hour and a half until lunch is served. Or better yet, just tell them you feel sick and say you are staying in bed.”

“Knowing my friends, they’d be at my dorm room in a heartbeat trying to look after me. That will not work.”

I nod in response. “That’s because you have good friends that care about you. Do they know your plans for after graduation?”
