“Hurry up, Corbin!”

The one who must be Corbin growls. “You fucking do it if you’d be quicker, Chris.”

“Out of my way,” he growls, and then I hear a door creak open. “Was it that hard?”

I’m shoved forward, almost losing my footing but being yanked back upright before I hit the floor. “Watch where you are walking.”

“I would if I could see,” I spit back.

That results in a sharp whack to the back of my head. “Keep your mouth shut, bitch. Unless you are sucking my cock.”

I grind my teeth as this guy is getting on my nerves. “Put it near my mouth and see if I don’t bite it off.”

He hits me again.

“Corbin! Don’t hit the leverage, you stupid son of a bitch,” someone shouts.

At least someone said it, as he is a stupid son of a bitch. I’m dragged a little further and then suddenly I’m forced into a chair. I feel hands grab my ankles and tie something tightly around them, binding me to the chair and making dread sink deeper in my stomach.

“Please, what are you doing—”

Someone smacks me in the face. “I said shut it!”

I swallow hard and shut my mouth, knowing that these kinds of men aren’t going to listen to reason or even tell me what is going on. And so I resign myself to the fact that I’m going to have to sit and await my fate, whatever it might be.

“How far along are they with the plan?” I hear a man ask.

“Fuck if I know. Ethan said to wait until he called.”

There’s a deep sigh from the other man. “Let’s wait outside. It’s stuffy in here.”

I hear the men’s footsteps as they move away and then the slam of a door, and then the unmistakable click of a lock turning.

I’m alone, in a chair, blindfolded and bound with no hope of escape. Even if I did manage to free myself, I’d still be trapped in this godforsaken place with no idea of where Isiah is. The air is heavy, but I feel my heart start to thump harder in my chest as fear sets in.

The thought that he might already be dead sends a chill down my spine and makes my chest clench, and I have to push the thought out of my head as it’s too painful to think about.

Instead, I contemplate what might happen to me. Are these men going to let me go? Or will they kill me? It’s impossible for me to know and all I can do is wait and hope that somehow everything works out for the best. I take a deep breath and push these thoughts away from my mind for now. The only thing keeping me calm is that Isiah is so strong I know he won’t be easily defeated, and if he survives, I know he’ll come for me. All I can do is sit completely helpless in complete darkness, surrounded by an eerie silence.

ISIAH

The party is in full swing as classical music travels from the building out into the surrounding woodland. Anyone would think that a cultured and civil party was taking place, but we all know the truth. Those fuckers are dressing up and attending this thing to buy young children to violate. Red Cove country club is the ideal location to sneak up on unsuspecting pedophiles and end them once and for all. It’s secluded and miles from any help.

The only problem is the guards. There are more security guards than Ethan anticipated, which means we’re outnumbered two to one.

“Any smart ideas?” I ask Ethan.

He shakes his head. “Surprise will be our friend. If we can sneak up on as many guards as possible and take them out silently, then we have half a chance.”

I don’t like leaving things to chance. I’m so used to being in control and right now, nothing is in my control. These men are running this operation and I feel out of the driver’s seat.

“Fine, we have no choice. Give the order.”

Ethan’s eyes flash, as if he’s not used to being told what to do, but he does give the order.

“Let’s move forward then,” he says, nodding toward the left side entrance which we are taking. Silently, we move as a unit in the shadows toward the building, knowing that one wrong move could spell disaster for all of us.
