She swallowed. “Yes.”

“Well, then, go ahead.”

She lifted her hands up to his face, cupping his cheeks. “I’ve been in love with you since I was twelve. But this last week with you has made me realize I didn’t really know what love was. You are the kindest, most caring man I know. And I love you now more than I ever have before.”

She pulled him down and brushed her lips against his. Electricity zapped through her as he returned the kiss, his lips sending a blaze of fire through her. She didn’t hold back and kissed him like she’d wanted to since forever. He threaded his fingers into her hair and the kiss turned passionate.

Remi had spent countless hours watching footage from Colton’s movies, wishing she were the female lead on the screen. Now, here she was, kissing Colton, and it meant so much more to her than being in some movie. This was real life, and her dreams were coming true. Colton pulled back and smiled at her.

“I love you,” he said, his voice cracking.

Her heart soared. “I love you, too.”

“After I break up with Liz, will you go out with me?” He smiled, and his dimple about did her in.

“Yes.”

Colton picked her up and swung her in a circle. “You’ve made me the happiest man in the world.”

Remi giggled. She didn’t know how it had happened, but Colton had fallen in love with her. No matter what else happened in her life, she knew she could withstand it, because her one true love was going to be with her.

And this made her happier than anything.

EPILOGUE

Remi squinted out of the small window beside her seat on the private jet, but she couldn’t see anything but clouds. “You’re not going to tell me where we’re going?” she asked Colton, even though she had a sneaking suspicion.

He grinned at her. “Nope.”

Colton took her hand and threaded his fingers through hers. He’d been away for the past four months filming on location in the mountains of Montana, and she’d missed him terribly. But he’d been so happy getting to play the villain in a psychological thriller, she couldn’t complain. And he’d been so sweet to her, whisking her away for a surprise getaway.

“No hints?”

“Just that you’ll love it.” Colton kissed the back of her hand, sending sparks of electricity through her. They’d been dating for three years now, but she still got silly school-girl butterflies when he was near her.

“Did you finish that screenplay you’ve been working on?” She nudged his knee when he didn’t answer.

“Almost. I have to run it by my favorite beta reader before I can.”

Warmth spread through her. “And who might that be?”

He kissed her cheek. “Just my best friend in the whole world.”

The captain announced they would be landing soon. Remi kept an eye out the window, and when she saw the ocean, she grew excited. “I think I know where you’re taking me.”

“You were always smarter than me.”

“Are you taking me to the Billionaire Club?”

He smiled, but his eyes held a secret. “Yes.”

She bounced in her seat. She hadn’t been to the Diamond Oasis since they’d been there three years ago. She was anxious to dip her toes in the water and lay on the sand.

The plane landed and they disembarked. Colton carried her luggage to the limo that waited for them.

“Can we go back to the cave?”

“Sure. Did you pack a swimsuit?”
