“I think so.”

“No offense, but you don’t look like it.” She ran her hand over his cheek. “You’ve gone pale under your tan.”

“Could you repeat what you just said?”

“The part about you looking sick?”

“No, the other thing.”

“I love you, Linc Hawker. And not just because you are possibly the most devastatingly kind and handsome man ever to walk this earth. Or because you’re terrific in bed. Though that certainly is a plus that I will never complain about. I love you because you have a heart from hell and make me feel chosen and accepted. I love your sense of honor, duty, and willingness to show kindness to whoever crosses your path. Except for Ken. Not that he deserved it. Because he most certainly didn’t.” She looked up. “There are several more reasons, but let’s start with those.”

“Thank you.” He moved his chair closer and took her hand. “I want you to know that I will never walk through that door and think you’re a given. I plan on flirting with you until I lose the power of speech.” He lifted her hand and pressed it against his chest. “I will love you beyond my limits and hope you will do the same.”

Lucy moved into his embrace. “Linc, I don’t have any limits and plan on loving you until the world blows up.”

He held her tightly against his chest and knew he’d been blessed beyond measure. He’d been given his divine counterpart, and there wouldn’t be a day that he didn’t appreciate how lucky that made him.

KISMET PREVIEW

A sexy retired SEAL and a feisty do-gooder play for keeps in this laugh-out-loud small-town romantic romp.

Tancy Foster loves nothing more than helping people. Unfortunately, her fairy godmother side hustle isn’t always welcomed. Or has the results that one would hope for.

Retired SEAL Teague Moriarty often wonders if living next door to Tancy, the Tasmanian Devil do-gooder, will be more perilous than the decade he spent in Special Operations.

One thing he’s certain of is that she’s the test he never asked for and the one he will be forever grateful for.

It’s a frenemy-to-lovers story more swoon-worthy than a slow montage of Jason Momoa doing… basically anything.

ONE

Tancy leaned against the window of her aunt’s cozy yarn shop and studied the growing line of women crowding the door of Teague’s studio. Did her viral TikTok have something to do with the swarm of beauties clamoring for her friend’s attention?

Peering past the early blooming Dogwood trees, she noted that many were snacking on donuts from the bakery and holding bags from the clothing store. One woman even had a large bouquet of hyacinths.

This has turned out better than I imagined.

Not only would Teague benefit from her machinations, but several downtown merchants would too. Could there be a Citizen of the Month award in her future?
