“Seriously?” Eve asked.

I nodded as I chewed the big bite I’d just taken. I’ve already eaten dinner, but Vince’s is

my favorite pizza too and I can’t resist.

“Thank you,” they said in unison.

I’d just finished eating when three women entered the studio. Keera introduced Chelsea, Tabitha, and I already met Phoebe at the axe throwing place. They just helped themselves to pizza when Paisley and Tasha arrived and joined in. It’s nice putting faces to some of the names Keera has mentioned.

By the time everyone was done eating, four and a half of the five trays were gone.

“I better let you ladies get to it,” I said. “I’ll take the empty boxes with me.”

“We can throw them in the dumpster,” Keera said. “Here, I’ll help you.”

Once again, she took the top two boxes off the stack I was holding. I followed her out the door. We walked to the end of the parking lot and she tossed her boxes into the dumpster tucked way in the back corner and I did the same.

Keera took my hand in hers and squeezed as we walked back to the front of the building.

“Thank you so much for bringing that. It was so thoughtful.”

“From our years working together, I know you don’t usually pack meals. So you wouldn’t have been eating until almost midnight.”

“And you brought enough for everyone.”

“I couldn’t remember all the names of who was going to be here, but I figured if I

brought enough for ten, I’d be good.”

She moved closer and wrapped her arms around my waist and rested her head against my chest.

“You’re perfect, you know that?”

I figured that was a rhetorical question, so I didn’t answer. She shifted back and looked me in the eye.

“Could I stay with you tonight?”

“Sure.”

“I probably won’t get there until close to midnight.”

“That’s fine.”

“And I may be too tired to do much more than sleep.”

I kissed her forehead.

“You’re always welcome in my bed.”

The corner of her mouth kicked up into an adorable smile.

“Cool.” She leaned forward and kissed me. “I’ll see you later.”

CHAPTER21

Keera

“I can’t believehow gorgeous the weather is today,” I said.
