Peter chugged his way out of the parking lot. “Now she’s purring, she’ll be fine.” He patted the dash.

“I can see it will be hard for you to say goodbye when it’s time to leave.”

“A small price to pay for bringing Charlotte home.”

“You think we will?”

“Will, I know it’s hard when it’s personal, but there’s no point thinking any other way. We remain positive until we have reason to believe differently.”

“You’re right. I’m really glad you came.”

“Always happy to help.”

Their first stop was BPT Airlines. Antonio wouldn’t keep Charlotte there for long, but if she passed through, someone would have seen her.

Remaining a safe distance away, they concealed themselves while they watched who was coming and going, but there was no sign of Antonio and no one who looked suspicious.

“I’ll have to go in and see what I can find out,” Will said.

“You speak Spanish?”

“Only enough to find the bathroom. You?”

“Not really.”

“It’s okay, I’ve got this. Unless you want to come too?”

“No. I’ll stay here in case you get into trouble and need rescuing, but let me get into a better position. I won’t be much good to you out here.”

“You’ve got ten minutes.”

Will snuck under a break in the fence where he breached a supply room and donned a jumpsuit hanging on the wall.

As he zipped it up, a woman in a cleaning uniform entered the room.

He smiled. “Hola.”

She said something he didn’t understand. He responded with a vague sound of agreement before exiting the room.

She didn’t appear fazed by his abrupt departure, so he hurried into the nearest hanger in search of the most important-looking person he could find.

He spotted a man in a nice suit walking through the hanger with a clipboard.

“Excuse me, sir?” Will stopped him.

“Yes?”

“You speak English?”

“I do. You’re American?”

“Yeah. I’m a mechanic, and I’m supposed to be meeting a jet here to have a look over her, but I’m late.”

“And?”
