“I promise,” I said quickly. No way in hell was I letting Kai tell my little brother about any of this.

“Text me and tell me what the doctor said.”

“Yeah. Okay.”

“Come on.” Zane squeezed my hip again.

“Where the fuck do you think you’re going?” Corey darted in front of us as we took a step toward the door.

“We’re takingyour employeeto the ER,” Zane said coldly.

“Like hell. If Gray needs to see a doctor, I’ll take him after we close. You have another set to do.”

“Yeah, not happening.” River snorted. “We’re taking care of our friend and you’re going to back the fuck off.”

“If you leave now—”

“What, you’ll fire us?” River turned on a smile. “Okay. I’m sure another club would love to have our twin act.”

Corey shot us all a glare. He hesitated. “I didn’t say that.”

“That’s what we thought,” River said, his voice still sickly sweet. “Now get the fuck out of our way.”

“Yo, Kai,” Zane said loudly.

“Yeah?”

“Grab our tips at the end of the night.”

“Will do. You too, Gray?”

“Yeah.” The only people I’d trust with my money were Kai, Nick, and the twins.

I liked the rest of the guys I worked with, but most of them were new and I didn’t know them that well. The five of us had all started around the same time, and we’d become close over the last year.

The club was only open on the weekends so the turnover rate for staff was high, and that included dancers. Most people lasted a few months before they moved on to something else.

“Don’t even think about filing a police report.” Corey gave me a stern look. “This has been dealt with.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it,” I said tiredly. The last thing I wanted to do was deal with the police.

“Back up,” Zane said when Corey didn’t move out of our way. “You don’t want to fuck with me right now.”

Corey leveled a glare at Zane but stepped out of our path toward the door.

The twins dragged me out of the club and to the car they shared. The drive to the hospital took about twenty minutes, and I spent the entire time in the back seat trying to keep my eyes open. Zane parked in front of the ER doors, and River came around to help me out.

“Holy shit.” The waiting room was packed. The fuck?

“You here to see a doctor?” a bored security guard asked as we approached the registration desk.

“Yes.”

“Take a seat there.” He waved to an area in front of a small room with six chairs in front of it. Two of the chairs were currently occupied by a guy holding an ice pack to a black eye, and a woman holding her stomach and moaning.

Fucking awesome.

River helped me into one of the chairs. “You good, or do you want me to wait with you while you go through triage?”
