“I mean, same. It’s not like I didn’t come so hard I blacked out too.”

“Good to know I have that effect on you.” I flushed, a smile tugging at my lips. I lifted my gaze.

“You do.” Confusion clouded his expression, even as he smirked. “Best I’ve ever had.”

The swoop of joy that detonated low in my gut took me by surprise. I couldn’t stop my grin. “Yeah?”

“Oh yeah.”

“Same. With you, I mean.” I raked my hand through my hair. “I should…”

He nodded. “Have a good night.”

“You too.”

I paused. I wanted to hug him, which was beyond weird. We’d just fucked, then cuddled. That was more contact than I ever got. It should have been enough. It should have beentoo much.

It wasn’t.

Refusing to look deeper into whatever the fuck was going on with me, I strode out of his room.

“This is a mistake,”I told Sloane as she parked her car.

“Why?” She cut the engine.

“Because…I don’t know. But it’s weird.”

“Why is it weird? It’s Friday night, we’re not working, and we’re going out.” She dug around in her purse. “This is what we do, remember? We’re young and hot and these are supposedly the best years of our lives. Might as well make the most of them.” She pulled a tube of lipstick out of her bag and flipped down the visor to use the mirror.

“It’s weird because we’re here. At the club my stepbrother works at,” I said dryly.

“We don’t know he works here. He said he works at a club. There are a lot of clubs in town.” She expertly applied her lipstick.

“Except he works at a strip club, and this is the only strip club with male dancers in the area.”

“What a crazy coincidence.” She grinned and flipped up the visor. “Come on. You can’t tell me you’re not curious.”

“Oh, I’m damn curious. But I know Graham. He’ll lose his shit if he finds out I’m creeping on him at work.”

“You’re not creeping, you’re supporting the opening of a local business. If anything, we’re being good community citizens.”

“You’re the worst enabler in the world. Is there anything you can’t justify?”

“It’s my superpower.” She patted my knee. “We’ll have a few drinks and sit in the back corner away from the stage so he doesn’t see us.”

“You’re not going to let this go, are you?”

“Nope. We had a shitty week and we deserve a break. And I know you’re all weirded out because your enemy with benefits works here, but so what? You’ve seen way more of him than he’s going to show, and we get to watch hot guys take their clothes off. There’s no downside here.”

“Not until I have to deal with him losing his shit because he saw me here.”

“So? It’ll give you another reason to shut him up with the D. You know he only does that because he wants you to fuck him stupid.”

“Fine,” I said, resigned. “But we bounce if there’s even the possibility of drama. I don’t want to fuck with his job.”
