“We are. And they’re all killers. None of them hesitate to pull the trigger,” she informs the guys as I pull her in tighter.

“He isn’t touching you or Axel.”

“That’s already agreed on,” Declan adds. “He doesn’t get near them.”

“So how do we go about gettin’ to them?” Ruger asks as he looks around the table. We start talking, shooting ideas around and possible scenarios. We discuss strategies and game plans and hash out the best way to do this and when. We make a solid plan. One I hope and pray doesn’t backfire on us in the end. I can’t lose anyone else.

“I think we all know I can’t lose anyone else,” I tell the group.

“You’re not losing anyone,” Kyla declares, touching her lips to my cheek.

“My son. Fuck, it feels weird just saying that my son and Kyla are now my top priority. Nothing happens to either of them,” I state them. They all nod their agreement.

“I think it’s smart to move them someplace safer while this all goes down,” Ruger suggests.

“I think he’s right,” Grave adds. “We can move them back to Chicago.”

“No. That’s too far away. I can’t do that. Not right now,” I tell them. I can’t let them go that far. I just can’t.

“Soulless Bastards clubhouse is always open for them. You know that, Mystic,” Smokey adds. I know his place is like a compound. No one gets in or out without them knowing, and that may be the best place for them when the time comes.

“I appreciate that. That might be the best place for them, but we need to plan this out. When are we doing this?”

“Soon. We need to get this handled before they realize she’s here.”

“Then let’s do this. Let’s move down the line, and we’ll go from there,” Smokey says.

“I gave Jake the list of people who are the easiest to get to.”

“Jake?” A few guys look at each other, confused, as I shake my head.

“I’m Jake.”

“Fuck, Mystic. All these years, and I didn’t know your name, brother.”

“There’s a reason for that. It’s safer,” I remind them.

“Sorry,” Kyla adds.

“Don’t be. It’s okay.”

“Okay, so we hit the easy targets first. We’re offerin’ you a space at the clubhouse to handle business if you wanna make this personal,” Declan offers. I nod my head.

“There are a few who made it personal,” I tell him. Kyla shifts in her seat, uneasy. “I’m sorry, Kyla.”

“No. Don’t be. I understand what needs to be done,” she assures me, even though I know it hurts her a little. She has a past with this guy.

“Okay, so we move on this. Let me get the guys together and down here,” Grave states. I nod my head once more when Blade says the same.

“Sounds good. I’ll get my guys out here too, and we’ll set up another meetin’.”

“Sounds good to me,” I tell them. They all stand, and we shake hands before they filter out of the house. I sit back down and can’t stop myself from pulling Kyla into my lap. She straddles my lap and lowers herself before I kiss her.

“Everything is going to be okay,” I tell her.

“Is it?”

“It is. We’re going to handle this.”
