As she tried to control her breathing, she heard a chair screech on the floor, and a hand rested on her shoulder.
Automatically, she rested her head against the soothing presence.
“I’m not going anywhere. I’m here for you, just as I promised. I will take care of this. I can’t stand to see you abuse yourself this way. The pride will understand. They always do in the end. They really have no choice anyway. They must abide by and accept my decisions as the final rule.” Thomas spun Lorena around to face him.
Her eyes were slightly blurred. She squeezed them tightly to push the tears off her lids and let them run down her cheeks. She wasn’t going to wipe them away.
She tried not to tremble. It had become harder and harder to be this close to Thomas, even when they were focused on work.
He smelled like spice and cedar. All she wanted to do was run her hands down his toned biceps and trace his abdomen and beyond with her fingers to see if everything else was just as defined as his clinging shirts insinuated.
Lorena looked down, but Thomas cupped her face and lifted her chin, forcing her brown eyes to meet his.
She became very aware of how close they were to each other and the heat spilling off her.
Lorena wondered if Thomas’s lion sense could pick up on just how badly she wanted him, even now, while her life seemed to be falling apart around her.
Her knees trembled as she held his gaze. She wanted nothing more than to kiss his perfect lips and forget the worries of the world right here in the office. She yearned for more than the comforting kiss they had shared in the hospital. She needed it.
Just the thought had her thighs hot with desire as moisture built between them.
Before she could regain her senses enough to pull away, Thomas closed the space between them and kissed her.
Electricity shot through her body as he pressed deeper. Every nerve felt as if it was on fire.
This was different from the reassuring kiss he had given her before. Her passion echoed off Thomas’s energy.
He pulsed for her the way she did for him. They needed each other and were tired of fighting it.
Thomas pressed his lips harder against her mouth as if claiming her. She surrendered completely to him. She wanted to be his, to be dominated.
There was no more holding back for either of them.
Lorena grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him closer, showing how much she wanted him.
Thomas responded instantly.
He growled deep in his chest and picked her up by her ass. She wrapped her legs around him and continued with their hungry kisses as he carried her to the leather couch in the office.
Thomas laid her on it and lowered on top of her, still not letting his lips leave hers.
Lorena’s mind and body were now only filled with what she had been trying to deny and totally ignore since she showed up in his office. Desire and lust for Thomas Leone.
She lifted his shirt over his head and quickly worked on his pants.
Once she had them loosened, Thomas unbuttoned her blouse and undid her pants as well.
Before going any further, Thomas pulled away, looking at her.
“Is something wrong?” she asked, suddenly self-conscious.
“No, not at all.” He smiled at her and brushed a blondish lock back from her face. “I want this. I want you. But I want to make sure you really want this too. You don’t know how long I have waited for you.”
She couldn’t believe that, in the heat of the moment, Thomas was being so kind and thinking of her instead of his own needs.
It worked to his advantage, though, because now she wanted him even more.
She smiled and pulled him back down to her, let her tongue push his lips apart, and explored his mouth.
