He leaves the bathroom with a devious smile on his face, causing a shiver to run through my body.

Eager to start the night's activities, I finish my bath and scour my suitcase for something to wear, settling on a sexy-as-hell black bodycon dress that hugs every inch of my body. The front has a sinfully low V-cut neckline and a gold zipper that runs the entire length of the dress. It comes to about mid-thigh so I can pair it with a sky-high heel without showing off the sheer pink lingerie set I have on underneath. I cannot wait to see the expression on Wes’s face.

About a half hour later, I finish my hair and makeup, then begin my searching for Wesley. Finding him in the living room, he’s looking out the windows at the city skyline. The sun is just setting, and the sky is adorned with the most breathtaking colors. I quickly take out my phone and snap a photo of him against the backdrop of the city. He truly looks like a king on top of the world.

I smile and set my phone back into my clutch.

“Hope you’ll be putting that to good use,” he says without taking his eyes off the view. Damn, I guess he did know I was there.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I reply, feigning innocence while maintaining what I think is a stellar poker face.

Wes turns and stalks his way over to where I stand at the other end of the room, giving me ample opportunity to take in how attractive he truly is. His hair is tousled in that “I didn’t try too hard” style that he’s perfected over the years. He’s wearing black from head to toe, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything sexier in my entire life. The black slacks he’s wearing look as if they were custom made to fit his long and muscular body, especially how they hug his strong thighs and perky ass. Wes’s button-down shirt stretches perfectly across his sculpted chest with the top button purposefully left open, giving just a hint of skin. Mmm… fuck dinner, my meal is standing right in front of me.

Wes lifts my chin and smiles at me. “You’re a horrible liar.” His lips connect with mine. Thankful I wore a long-lasting lip stain, and my bright red lips won’t be smeared all over us. Although I wouldn’t mind marking him with my lips, showing the world that Wesley King is mine and I won’t let him go this time.

He grabs my hand, raising it to his mouth, and kisses it. “You look absolutely stunning, my little Thea. I’m glad we’ll have private seating for tonight’s dinner.”

“Thank you, Wes. You’re looking gorgeous yourself.”

“Come on, let’s get going,” he says, escorting me to the door and towards the elevator.

I’m too busy smiling like a schoolgirl to notice that the elevator is moving up to the roof and not down to the lobby. So, when the elevator doors open, I’m rendered speechless at the sight in front of me. Between the candle lit pathway, the warm autumn breeze, and the setting sun, everything is absolutely perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so beautiful.

We follow the flickering candlelight to an intimate table for two set next to a glass railing, allowing for a full view of the city below us. It’s adorned with more twinkling candles and a beautiful arrangement of flowers in varying shades of blue. A waiter greets us with champagne flutes upon his tray. Thanking him, I take both glasses and hand one to Wes. He downs his in one go, but I'm too in awe to think straight. I can't believe he did all this for me.

Wes grabs my hand again and leads us away from the table to the other end of the rooftop where an oversized outdoor couch and a lit fireplace are nestled in a secluded corner.

“Oh Wes! This is stunning.” I practically swoon as we settle into the cushions, taking in the sunset sky and the warmth of his body nestled close to mine.

“It’s nothing compared to my view.”

I turn to find him staring at me with those gorgeous green eyes, both of his hands resting in his pants pockets. The flames from the fireplace dance across his face. I bite my lip and bow my head while a warm flush takes over my cheeks.

“You are the most beautiful creature I have ever laid my eyes on, baby. There’s nothing in this world that I’ve ever wanted more than you by my side. For years I’ve fantasized about it, how it would feel to have you—mind, body, and soul. Now that nothing or no one is holding us back, I’m done. You’re all I need in this life and all I’ll ever want.”

“Oh my god,” I squeak out, totally taken aback by his words. “Wes, I don’t know what to say. This is all so surreal, like a fairytale come true. You don’t know what your words mean to me. There's never been a day that goes by that I haven’t yearned to feel your touch. You’re all my heart has ever wanted.” I want to blurt out that I still love him and that I’ve never stopped. Instead, I just stare into his eyes, hoping he can see the sentiment there without saying those special words.

He lifts my hand and presses another kiss to it.

I love this man with all that I am.

Dinner was superb, cooked perfectly and with such an impeccable presentation. Course after course of small tasting plates that I could literally lick clean they were so delicious.

We make our way over to the fireplace once more, deciding it’s the best place to finish our drinks and wait for dessert.

“Are you enjoying yourself?” Wes leans in and whispers in my ear, dropping a kiss to my neck afterwards.

“Mmm… of course I am. Today’s been truly wonderful, Wes. Thank you for giving me such a perfect day”

“No need to thank me, Lo. Although, I do believe you owe me. And I think I’m ready for my repayment.” That devious smirk returns to his stupidly gorgeous face.

“Oh really? Right here… wait staff and all?” As if summoned by my words, a gentleman comes out with a tray and sets it in front of us near the fireplace.

“Thank you. That will be all this evening. You’ve done a wonderful job, I’ll be sure to let Julie and Matt know.”

“Thank you, sir. It has been a pleasure,” the waiter responds before he disappears from sight.
