“Surprising you,” he smiles, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a set of keys.

Cocking my eyebrow at him, I ask, “What are those for?”

“My surprise,” he smirks and walks back into Masqued.

We head upstairs toward the security office and employee dressing rooms. I had shown Ava this area earlier, but since it’s not a main part of the club, all it requires is some paint and new light fixtures to match the rest. Wes approaches the door at the end of the hall. Which I could not get into earlier, and was going to call Kelly to ask her what key I needed to get in.

Taking his shiny set of keys, he opens the locked door and flips on the lights. I'm stunned to tears at the sight before me.

“You did this?” I ask, walking further into the room. Wes follows and wraps his arms around me from behind. Resting his chin on top of my head. “All for you, baby.”

My eyes bounce around, taking in the completely renovated space. He redid the office for me, completely to my liking.

“I love it, Wes! How did you pull this off so quickly?” Spinning in his arms to kiss him again. This man never ceases to amaze me.

“I have my ways.”

Breaking out of his hold, I walk around the room. On the far side of the office is a gorgeous wall of exposed brick with a large wood-framed window taking up a decent amount of the space. A sizable white desk and chair are situated in front of it, facing inward. One wall has a floor to ceiling built-in unit with cabinets and shelving. There is a seating area nestled in the middle of the floor with tall wing-backed chairs that are covered in the same fabric and color Ava and I chose for the drapes downstairs. On the wall opposite of the built-ins, there’s a gallery wall composed of framed articles and photos.

Taking a few steps closer, I see the articles are some of my favorites from the Art of Seduction, and the photos are snapshots of our friends and family throughout the years. I burst out in a crying laugh when I spot the Hansel, Gretel, and Hilda photo. Overwhelmed with love and emotions, I start to cry.

“I can’t believe you did all this and got everyone to help you, too. It—it means the world to me... I love you so much, Wesley King.”

“I’d do anything for you, baby. You just say the word and it's yours.”

Throwing my arms around his neck, I stare into his beautiful green eyes. How did I get so lucky?

Just over his shoulder on the wall with the main door, the glow from a neon sign catches my eye. Tilting my head to peek around him, I read ‘it was always you’.

I can't help the happy tears that are streaming down my face. I cup his cheeks in my palms and kiss him gently. “You’re everything I ever hoped for.”

Wes kisses me back, eyes glossy. He whispers, “You’re all my dreams come true, my little Thea.”

Pulling away from me to catch his breath, Wes takes a few steps back and leans against the desk. The whole office reveal seemed to make him a bit nervous. I can tell by the slight shake of his hands. I take the opportunity to scan the room once more, noticing other details I missed the first time. I can't believe how beautiful this room is. It’s the perfect mix of everything. My family, friends, us, work, all of it.

“Still can’t beli—” My words are cut short when I spin around to compliment Wes on his sneaky collaborations with my friends and family.

“What are you doing?” I ask Wes, who is on his knee looking at me as if I hung all the stars in the sky.

“Baby, you mean more to me than life itself. I promise to love and cherish you like the goddess you are. I’ve waited for what feels like forever for this moment, and I can't wait a second longer. For you to be my partner in this crazy thing called life, side by side, till the end of time. Would you do me the honor of making me the luckiest man alive by choosing to spend the rest of your days with me?”

Placing my hand over my heart, I try to breathe. Is this really happening?

“Are you serious?” I ask, still willing my brain to catch up to what’s happening. This is all too soon, isn’t it? Is it really too soon, if you waited what feels like a lifetime for each other?

“I’ve never been more sure about anything in my entire life,” he says with so much love in his eyes while pulling a small box out of his pocket.

This all feels like a dream. To have this man in front of me, asking me to be his forever. It's all I’ve ever wanted, and now it’s finally mine. Unable to help it, I throw myself at him while he’s still kneeling. Knocking him onto his back, I straddle his body and press my lips to his.

“I would love nothing more than to spend eternity with you. After all, we were written in the stars long ago,” I say, just inches from his face. With that, he grabs my cheeks and crashes his mouth into mine. “I love you so much,” I manage to say through smushed lips.

“There are no words to describe how much I love you. You’re my sun and moon, the brightest star in the sky on even the darkest of nights. You’re my everything, Thea. And now you're my forever.”

I sit up slightly, bracing my hand on his chest. His heart beat strong under my touch. I smile, knowing it only beats for me. “Forever,” I whisper. I can’t believe Wesley King… the man that makes all my dreams come true will be mine for eternity.

Having an overwhelming need to feel his body on mine, my hands travel to his neck, where I loosen the knot of his tie. “Did you dress up for me?” I ask, as I begin unbuttoning his shirt, grinding myself down onto his growing erection.

“Do I get bonus points if I say yes?” He smirks at me.
