Avery looked to the dark-eyed beauty sitting to her right. With long purple hair, d-cup breasts and a deep tan, she was the one who was striking.

“Not quite, but thanks. I’m Avery.”

She held out her hand.

“Santi,” the woman replied, her long gold nails catching on Avery’s skin. “How’d you come to work here?”

“I meet Keira when I was bartending. The work was fine, but my boss was an asshole and the tips sucked.”

Thinking about her “boss”, AKA Sonny, made goosebumps pop all over Avery’s skin.

“And I worked the pole in Edmonton two years ago, so it wasn’t all that difficult for me to say yes to Keira’s offer.”

“I hear ya. You’ll be raking it in here. Keira’s good to her girls. And the bikers that come in, they always have tons of cash. I mean crazy. And drugs too if you need a pick me up.”

“My vice is tequila and too many shoes but good to know. You been working here long?”

“About a year. I was working at a strip club up in Calgary, but the city isn’t for me. Local gangs moved in and big city customers are lousy tippers. I moved down here and haven’t looked back.”

Avery nodded as she added cream foundation and setting powder to her face, then lined her eyes for a dramatic smoky eye. She added black rhinestone stickers in a fan pattern on her forehead, a few on her temples and a couple of beauty marks and voila. She hardly recognized the reflection in the mirror. And with the low lights of the club and people drinking, so one would be the wiser.

“I live in the country, close to Longford, and I love it. Lots of bikers there too. It’s good.”

Santi nodded. “Tell me about it. Especially at the end of the week. They’re all revved up to party and man, can they fuck.”

A vision of Sonny doing just that flashed in Avery’s mind, but she dismissed it.

“Well, I best be getting up there,” Avery murmured. “When’s your set?”

“I just finished one. I’m on again at 10:30.”

“I’ll be sure to watch, see if I pick up any pointers.”

“The only pointers you should be focused on are these.” Santi laughed and pointed to her breasts.

Avery chuckled. “Right. Wish me luck.”

“Have fun.”

Santi picked up a curling iron and began to fix her hair.

Avery wandered back up the stairs to the main level and was greeted by a fierce looking redhead in black jeans, a matching t-shirt, and a leather choker.

“I’m Lessa. Keira wanted me to show you around.”

“Avery, thanks.”

Lessa wandered down the hallway and Avery followed. “This is backstage where you can make your entrance. If you have any issues, signal for me. I’m usually behind the bar that faces the main stage. We got five to six girls working the poles on various platforms so it can get crowded but there’s enough customers to go around. Questions?”

Avery shook her head. “Nope. Oh, wait, can I select my music?”

“Yup. Talk to Ron, he’s the DJ. Stage left.”

“Got it.”

Lessa nodded and walked away, leaving Avery alone.

She looked out unto the crowd. Lessa was right. It was packed. Scanning the room, she noticed the cuts of several MCs, including Death Riders. No sign of Galen or Kingston, though, which was even better.
