“We’ll see what happens,” Avery smiled but her stomach flipped over in a bad way.

The only person she wanted touching her was Sonny. She glanced at her phone. They’d be on the road now and almost here. Another hour or so and this would all be over.

Avery slipped on a pair of black patent leather stilettos with metal spikes on the heels and toes. It not only looked badass but could inflict a lot of pain if the shoes were used like a weapon. Then she finished her makeup, adding a thick layer of red lip gloss, then added a few beauty marks and red rhinestone stickers.

“You look hot,” Santi gushed as she slipped on a pink dress and matching heels.

“Thanks, but I’m nowhere near as sexy as you.”

“Do you need a pick me up before you go on?” Santi asked as she pulled a small container out of her bag. She opened the box, dumped a line of white powder on her hand and sniffed it. “This is some grade A coke.”

Avery shook her head. “I’m good.”

She didn’t need anything fucking up her concentration. Avery hardly drank, never mind taking drugs. She’d experimented in the past, when she was at university, but it didn’t do much for her.

She liked natural stress release - riding her bike or having sex.

A loud whistle caught everyone’s attention and Avery turned.

Kiera stood at the entrance to the changing room. “Okay ladies, the party is about to get started. We got a group of rich, horny bikers all revved up. Give them what they want and keep ‘em coming back for more.”

Avery’s pulse kicked up another notch. Santi left the room and the other women milled about. Avery quickly tapped her earring.

“Can you guys hear me?” she whispered, barely moving her mouth so no one around her would be the wiser.

“Loud and clear, baby.” Sonny’s voice echoed in her ear.

Her heart continued to race but Avery’s stomach finally settled down.

“Perfect. I’m going on in twenty minutes. See you soon.”

She finished getting ready.

Just knowing that Sonny and her brothers were close by gave the confidence she needed. She finished her makeup, applied setting spray, and then used a curling iron to add more waves to her hair. She looked at the time again. She was up in a few minutes.

Avery grabbed her purse from the locker and headed to the bathroom. Once inside a stall, she took out a four-inch sheathed knife and hid it in the sole of her shoe. She felt naked without a gun but that was the risk she was taking by going undercover.

Sauntering upstairs, Avery felt the pounding pulse of the blaring music.

“Can you hear me now?” Avery spoke quietly as she moved down the hallway and to the back of the stage. Watching Santi and another two women work the pole – and the men in the room – Avery stepped out closer to get the full force of the noise.

“We can still hear you. Reply yes if you can hear us clearly,” Xander’s voice echoed in her ear.

“Yes,” Avery replied but was startled by a hand on her shoulder.

She turned around to find Ron, the DJ, standing behind her. Standing way too close.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you. You sounded like you were giving yourself a pep talk.”

“I was,” Avery responded with her biggest smile. “I always get jittery before I step on stage and then I need to tell myself ‘yes’ I can do this.”

Avery hoped that was all he heard and that she didn’t arouse any suspicion.

“It’s not a huge crowd but still, these guys party hard. You’ll be raking it in,” Ron assured her as he gave her another once over.

Avery’s creep radar sounded off. Thankfully, he moved to stand behind his sound equipment and got to work.

A new song blasted out. It was deeper, slower, and very sexy. Santi and the other women moved accordingly as their final scraps of clothing came off. Avery noted Galen in the crowd, licking his lips and motioning for Santi to come closer. Avery hoped to fuck her costume held up and Galen didn’t recognize her.
