“You’re coming? I thought you were going to stay behind?” Sonny asked.
“Jesse’s staying here to run things. We got a recruit at the hospital with Wyatt.”
“All right. You suited up?”
“Yes. Believe it or not, I have done this a time or two,” Gage bit out sarcastically as he pulled out a handgun and checked the magazine.
“Okay, but I’m driving.”
Sonny walked around the front of the car and slid into the driver’s seat. Gage was talking to Jesse, whispering so low that Sonny couldn’t make out the words. He gave his son a quick hug and then pulled back. Gage opened the door and slid into the passenger seat.
Sonny waited until Dante and Jackson showed up, and both men got in in the backseat. He spotted Nate and Xander each taking a truck and other members piling in with them.
“Let’s roll,” Gage demanded, and Sonny started the car.
Sonny headed down the driveway and out past the gates.
As he drove, Sonny’s anxious thoughts started to swirl like a tornado. But he shut that shit down quickly, refusing to give it power. Avery’s life depended on his cool thinking tonight and no way was he going to let her down. Not only that, but he had his brothers to look after. He hoped that every single member would be making the trip back tonight. But he knew that this kind of large-scale attack always had casualties.
Injured or worse, only time would tell.

AVERY
Avery noticed that the parking lot of the Golden Ladder was a lot less packed than the last time she’d been here.
There were only thirty bikes tonight. She recognized Galen’s and her heart began to pump fast and hard.
The party was about to get started.
Grabbing her backpack from the saddle bag, Avery took a deep breath and headed for the door.
The same bouncer greeted her inside with a nod. She walked down the stairs to the dressing room, where Kiera, dressed in black leather, was talking to Santi. Both women turned and smiled at her, as she walked past and opened a locker.
Avery quickly slipped on a red lace bodysuit over her thong and bra. Then she strutted over to the makeup table. While she was applying her face, Kiera and Santi walked over, the owner standing behind Avery and the dancer sitting down to fix her hair.
“Avery, you’re on the second set after Santi. It’s a small private party but they have deep pockets so give them a show they won’t forget,” Kiera ordered as she stood with her hands on her hips. “I get the same cut for private time tonight.”
“Understood,” Avery murmured as she applied heavy eyeliner and shadow.
“Good, see you shortly.”
Kiera nodded and walked away, leaving her alone with Santi. Other dancers came and went, with drinks in hand and cigarettes lit up.
“We’re gonna have so much fun tonight,” Santi chuckled as she added hairspray to her long purple mane. “I’ve worked with these guys before. They’re a rowdy crew but man, do they spend money. It’s like fucking Christmas all over again.”
Avery pretended to laugh, but her nerves wouldn’t settle down. She adjusted her red wig, making sure the beachy waves looked perfectly imperfect.
“I can’t wait,” Avery replied with a calm voice and an unsteady pulse. “I need some retail therapy so I’m counting on tonight to be a winner.”
“It’s going to get raunchy,” Santi whispered as she picked up her false eyelashes and glued them on. “I’m doing a set with Darlene tonight. The guys love to see girl-on-girl action.”
Avery paused as she was applying her mascara and Santi laughed. “It’s good money, honey. You know, touching each other tits and ass. It gets the guys worked up so good they’ll be throwing out money faster than we can grab it. Trust me.”
“Are you working the private rooms tonight?” Avery asked.
“Hell yeah. But I’ll wait until the guys are stoned. They don’t fuck as good, but it’s over quickly and I don’t have to put as much acting into it. Last time we hosted a party like this there was a giant orgy. It was some biker club from BC, can’t remember their name. Anyway, those guys were young and wild. I mean they were DP’ing women and some of the guys even fucked each other. Every hole was well used that night.”
