“I want this every single day,” I tell him as my brows come together, “this is the life I want.”

Not just the sex, but the whole thing. I want to welcome him home and rub whatever hurts and let myself melt each time he wants to kiss me. Maybe I’m being a little greedy, but so far, Bryson hasn’t hinted at wanting me to reel back.

When he tucks a hand between our bodies, my thoughts on the future are fried. I don’t have the power to think when his fingers find my clit, adding even more friction I don’t know I need until it’s there.

I can’t get enough, not when I feel like I’m already teetering over the edge.

My nails dig into another part of his flesh as I use his body as support to cling on a little bit longer.

His motion is growing more unsteady by the minute. I’m not the only one going crazy here. The more I clench around him, the heavier his breathing becomes.

Watching him come undone now has to be my favorite pastime.

Gasping and choking on my next breath, stars take over my vision and his name comes out torn up and broken.

Now when I cling onto his body, it’s only to hang on for the rest of the ride. He kisses me a final time, swallowing up my moans and pants before stilling, filling me with a delicious wet heat.

While we’re fighting to catch our breaths, he cradles my face like I’m fragile. Maybe he forgot already how rough he had me against the bed.

“How about we make a trip down the mountain tomorrow? We’re going to need some WiFi if we want to tell them to hurry up and start the paperwork.”

Nodding my head, I’m feeling sweaty and sluggish. We’re going to have to make sure we don’t sleep in. Definitely not going to want to prolong this for another day. Even if it takes a month or two to officiate the marriage, I want the whole world to know as soon as possible that I’m going to be Bryson’s wife.

“Please tell me we’re almost there,” I pant, my lungs burning as badly as my calves.

“A few more minutes,” Bryson promises, keeping his hand securely wrapped around mine as he tugs me further up the mountainside.

“You said that five minutes ago.” Sucking in a much-needed breath, he’s happy to let us stop as many times as I need to recollect myself. “We could’ve driven up here in a third of the time.”

“That’s a lot of time to miss out walking next to you,” he reminds me, sending one of his dazzling smiles in my direction. Dang him for being corny and owning my heart all the way through.

Hunching over, my toes curl. My ankles are killing me. As much as I want to complain, I keep my words inside. Need to save my ability to speak for later. Once we’re settled in a cleared spot, sharing our lunch together, then I’ll let it all out.

Continuing to walk, I fight the urge to ask him to carry me. I can survive another five minutes. Encouraging myself silently, we continue going untilfinally, we reach an opening in the trees and hit a large field of wildflowers.

“Been saving this spot as a backup plan in case I ever needed to make you fall in love with me again,” he explains before releasing my hand. Shrugging off his backpack, he quickly takes out the thin blanket inside.

The moment we’re settled on the ground, I’m kicking off my shoes without a care in the world. I’m not even in enough of a rush to pull out the food we worked to prepare for this date.

Today’s the big day I reveal the news. Something tells me Bryson is going to be a little upset that we walked all this way. When I told him I wanted today’s date to be more special than the others, I didn’t expect a hike to come along with my request.

Well, here we are, resting at our destination.

Catching my breath, I take a moment to stare up at the clear sky. The air might be a bit thinner, but man that view is breathtaking in itself. Worth the aching body.

Bryson is taking my pack from me as my attention remains on our surroundings. Pulling out some wrapped sandwiches, he clears his throat.

“You like it up here? I’m always happy to come back whenever you want.” He’s looking so proud of himself for his findings.

“It’s definitely lovely,” I agree with a soft sigh. “It’s perfect for some groundbreaking news.”

Flattening myself on the blanket, I move my hands to my stomach. Beneath his shirt, I feel the small curve of my tummy. The same curve I excused for the insane amount of food I’ve been eating lately.

“News? Nothing exciting happens up here last time I checked,” he points out before setting one of the sandwiches on my stomach alongside a bag of chips.
