“It was,” I said.

“And you called the poem ‘Throbbing,’ too?”

“Yeah, I did.”

“Okay. No need to get an attitude,” she said, putting her hands up in the air. “I was just asking.”

“Let me read my poem, and then you will tell me what you would give me out of ten.”

“Okay. Actually, hold on.”

“What?”

“I have an idea.”

“Okay.”

“Let’s call Harriet, and you can read it, and she can also give her opinion.”

“I guess,” I said.

“But,” Chelsea said, grinning, “don’t tell her you wrote the poem. Let’s just say we want her opinion on this poem.”

“Fine,” I said.

“Cool,” Chelsea said, laughing, grabbing her phone. I watched as she called her assistant and put it on speakerphone. “Hey, you there, Harriet?”

“I’m here,” she said. “What’s up?”

“I’m here with Polly.”

“Yeah?”

“And we just want your opinion on this poem.”

“Okay. Like right now?”

“Yeah. It’s not that long, right?”

“No, it’s not that long,” I said, staring at Chelsea, who was grinning.

“Hey, what’s going on?” We heard Finn’s voice in the background.

“Oh, my sister just called me. They want me to listen to some poem.”

“Oh, I’ll listen, too,” Finn said. “Hey, you girls, I can put him on speaker.”

“It’s fine,” I said, looking at Chelsea.

“Put him on speaker,” she said.

“Hey, Finn’s on speaker,” Harriet said.

“Hi, Chelsea. Hi, Polly.”

“Hey, Finn,” I said.

“Looking forward to starting your internship tomorrow?” he asked.
