“Oh, of course. I can’t wait. Just think, maybe one day I’ll be actually working at that firm, after I go to law school of course.”

“Now, wouldn’t that be the dream?” he said. “I’m sure Travis and Maximilian would love to have you.”

“Oh yeah. Well, you know, maybe one day they will,” I said, laughing.

“So, what’s the poem?” Harriet said. “Finn and I were going to go and catch a movie later.”

“Hold on, I’m bringing it up.”

“Okay.”

“Wait,” Chelsea said. And I glared at her.

“What now?”

“Let me tell Finn the rules.”

“Fine,” I said, sighing, starting to feel a little bit nervous about reading my poetry to so many different people.

“So, Finn.”

“Yes, Chelsea?”

“You have to give this poem a score out of ten, and so does Harriet, and so will I.”

“Okay.”

“Are you guys done yet?” I said.

Chelsea grinned at me.

“Go ahead.”

“‘Throbbing,’” I said, “by…” I paused as Chelsea glared at me. “Anyway, let me start.”

“Is that part of the poem?” Harriet asked. And I groaned.

“No, that’s not part of the poem. I was just saying, let me start.”

“Sorry. I just wanted to make sure. You know how some poems are like crazy like that.”

“I know.” Chelsea laughed. “It’s like songs like that one song. Let me clear my throat. Uh-uh. Uh-uh.”

I glared at her, and she giggled.

“Sorry. Go ahead, Polly.”

“Thank you,” I said. “‘Throbbing.’” I spoke extra loudly now. “‘Standing there in the room, you and me. Candlelight, darkness, silk sheets.’” Chelsea’s eyes widened as she started giggling. I licked my lips and tried to ignore her.

“‘Purple, green, blue, yellow.’”

“ROYGBIV,” Chelsea cried out. And I glared at her.

“Really, Chelsea?”

“Sorry, but I thought you were going to be saying all the colors of the rainbow.”

“Some of those colors aren’t even a part of the rainbow,” I said.
