Rowan considered consulting with Lysander before choosing the invitation to say yes to. If he was already planning to go, then if it worked for her schedule, she'd prefer to RSVP a yes to that event. She wasn't kidding herself though. She knew he worked long hours and if she wanted to see him during whatever time they chose to remain lovers, she had to be creative about making that happen.

She might even have to accommodate, but unlike every year until she'd walked out on her ex, Rowan wasn't going to be the only one doing the accommodating. Lysander would have to make time for them in his schedule or they wouldn't last very long. No matter how mind blowing the sex was.

He'd already taken an entire weekend to spend with her and though she knew he liked his decompress time when he returned from a trip, she'd heard him giving instructions to reschedule some calls and a dinner meeting the night before with some consortium out of Belgium.

Rowan grabbed her phone and called him.

Not because she missed him already. No. It was simply a matter of expediency. She needed to know his plans to see if they meshed with hers. Yes, that was it. She didn't miss his infrequent smile, or the way he looked at her with such heat, or his surprisingly teasing manner.

He kept calling his security specialistsgoonsjust to rile her up.

She refused to back down on that score though. They'd behaved like goons and she'd let them know it. Strangely enough, both Klaus and Gregor seemed to like and respect her. Gregor had even apologized for pulling a gun on her and promised it wouldn't happen again.

She should hope not. And not to anyone else either. When she'd said so, he'd just given her a slightly enigmatic smile and walked away.

Lysander picked up after the first ring.

"Hello, glikia mou. Have you changed your mind about coming over tonight?" he asked in a tone meant for the bedroom.

Sudden heat washed over Rowan and she fanned herself with a piece of junk mail. He'd taken to calling herhis sweetand the endearment did things to her all on its own. In that tone? It was deadly.

"I was wondering if you had plans to attend any events that I've been invited to," she said. "I try to go to at least a couple while my parents are in Athens, and I would prefer to make it an opportunity to see you as well."

Her father's business interests in Greece were a big part of his company's revenue, but her parents still spent the majority of their time in their home outside of Atlanta. Her mother enjoyed her social position there as a Queen Bee around whom many buzzed, more than in Athens where she was not married to one of the wealthiest men in any room.

Oh, her father was rich all right, but he didn't make the Forbes list. Lysander was near the top and Cyrus was nearer the bottom, but he was still on it.

"You could have called my personal assistant for that," he said, his tone teasing. "And yet you called me."

"You've given me access to your PA?" Rowan asked with shock she made no attempt to hide.

Neither her father, nor Cyrus, had done so. They expected full access to her schedule, but had never returned the favor. She'd spent so much of her life in a controlled bubble, she thought disconsolately.

"Yes." Lysander's response was tinged with surprise at his own behavior. "I have just sent details to your phone. Did you want to call her instead?"

"No. I want to talk to you," Rowan offered with more honesty than was prudent.

"And I am pleased to speak with you," he said, rewarding her truthfulness with his own, his tone warm and approving.

"Lysander…" She let her voice trail off, not sure what she wanted to say.

"Have you accomplished the chores you set out to do?" he asked.

She nodded, remembered they weren't facetiming and said, "I've started them anyway."

"Ah, you are going through your mail," he guessed. "One benefit to being a billionaire executive is that I have people to do that for me."

"So, if I sent you a card or a letter, your PA would read it before you did?" she asked, her voice going sultry. "I'd better be careful what I write then."

"Just as any correspondence from my mother has special instructions to be brought directly to me, so does yours."

"It does? Already?" They'd only been seeing each other for a minute.

And really, they hadn't even had their first date. They'd spent the weekend together, mostly in bed.

"I am an efficient man."
