"We are a little conspicuous in how our group takes up five tables." Two security personnel sat at each of four around them. And then of course there was their table.

"Klaus and the others could be eating in the privacy of their suite if we were eating in ours," Lysander pointed out, not so helpfully.

Rowan gave her lover a look. "Maybe they would have eaten here anyway."

"I'm sure they would not."

"Let's ask them." Which is what she did, proving her point.

Every single one of the security personnel said they preferred eating out in such a controlled environment.

Huh.

That wasn't something Rowan had considered, how guarding Lysander aboard ship, even when he was out of the suite, was easier than back in Athens.

"Don't get smug," Lysander told her, but his eyes were smiling, even if his lips weren't.

Dinner was delicious and even he had to admit it. Which she made him do before she would leave the table.

"You are a challenge." He shook his head. "Why do I put up with you?"

"Because you like my body?"

"I like more than your body. And I adore your body, let's be clear on that."

"Hmm, I think I like being in the adored category."

"You are the only one that ever has been."

This man.

When he said things like that, Rowan had a hard time remembering he didn't want long term commitment. Only maybe he'd changed his attitude about that just like she had?

It was such a tantalizing thought that Rowan had to banish it very firmly. If she let herself hope for a future with Lysander and he decided he was done with her a month from now, her heart would break.

She'd never had a broken heart before, but she'd known plenty of emotional pain with her family and her ex. She suspected Lysander had the power to devastate her in a way no one else had.

Their next day at anchor was in Puerto Vallarta where she'd chosen a private tequila tasting, followed by a fiesta lunch with traditional dancers and a discussion of their history in the area.

Although Rowan was not a big drinker, she easily discerned the vast difference between aged tequila and what she'd had in margaritas when she'd gone for a drink with coworkers after work.

She listened avidly to the lecture on the process of harvesting the agave and distilling the tequila.

She even got to meet ajimadore, one of the skilled workers who harvested the agave. They chatted for nearly half an hour, and he proudly told her about the long line of men in his family who had beenjimadores.

After lunch, they visited the cathedral, which was awe inspiring and had such an air of peace, she'd put off leaving as long as possible.

That peace was shattered when they stepped outside.

"Lysander, fancy seeing you here." It was Cyrus.

"You have a serious security breach," Rowan said to Lysander. "First your ex and now mine."

"What the hell are you doing here?" Lysander demanded of his half-brother.

"Taking in the sites like you, I would imagine."
