Page 12 of Abduction

When Elizabeth had been given the position of Deputy Director of the FBI—read that as forced against her will by the tyrant in charge—she found out about his team.

They reconnected.

Oh, and she was going to use him. She trusted Lewis to the point she’d let him watch her kids.

That said it all.

The man was smart, funny, and when he was on a mission, he was focused.

Granted, he carried a CIA tag, but she still believed he’d do the right thing when push came to shove—unlike people like Artemis Dubois, who couldn’t be trusted as far as Elizabeth could toss her foul, vile, traitorous ass.

Lewis had trained and worked under the Major, after all, and they all knew how loyal she was to her mission and country.

Because they were friends, he was honest.

“Molly, you in danger girl. Or should I say that The Hunters are?”

Oh.

Shit.

Balls.

That was the last thing she wanted to hear from this man. She’d put him on the ground to clean up after The Hunters and buy them time.

Clearly, they were out of that commodity.

“What now?” she asked.

“Oh, you have a mess. There have been two sets of abductions. One was an attorney and his daughter. They were grabbed in the middle of town having lunch at a café.”

Lordy.

That was ballsy.

Wasn’t it?

He continued.

“The other was a police commissioner and his wife. That funfest happened last night. It appears that someone is picking off people.”

“Who did they take?” she asked.

“William and Shasta Deveraux were the first two, and Jonathan and Bambi Denmark were the second two.”

“Bambi?”

He grinned.

“The commissioner liked them young, big-titted, and not too bright. You know what they say about women named Bambi?”

“What?”

“They like rabbits.”

She laughed.

“You’re insane.”
