“Merry wouldn’t be angry but that depends on who the person is.”

“I wouldn’t be?”

He proved a point.

“Cher, you can kiss me. My wife knows I wouldn’t do anything inappropriate. Trust matters.”

She gave him a kiss, and Merry didn’t lose it.

His wife sighed.

“He has a point.”

Elizabeth was aware.

“See? Sometimes, it’s just friendly. I’ve kissed Zayn like ten times, and he grabbed my ass…”

Stella got up, and the man ran behind the table to get away from his wife.

“She’s lying! I never grabbed that harpy’s ass! I swear to God!”

Elizabeth laughed so damn hard.

She couldn’t help herself.

In fact, they were all amused.

“God. This is too easy with Zayn. It’s almost like stealing land from Natives.”

Boone stared at her and tried not to laugh at what she just said. Only she would go there.

“Too soon, Elizabeth. Still too soon,”

She finished.

“Anyway, Gene is at the hotel with Ethan, I’m going to get him some clothes and talk to Tommy after I feed Gamble. My list of things to do is getting longer and longer. I hope you guys have something,” she said.

Remington held up the paper.

“We do.”

That worked for her.

“Has he tried to venture from the room yet?” she asked, knowing what was likely going to happen.

An intervention.

They all shook their heads.

“We’re worried about him,” Maura said. “He’s despondent, and he only eats if we make him. He’s barely holding on. He’s dropped some weight, and we might not be enough to put him back together again.”

She figured as much.

Thus, why she went further and handled it.

“Okay, well, and I know you guys aren’t going to like this, but he needs a shrink.”

Everyone looked around. It appeared that they didn’t mind that.
