She was in Adder mode, and there was still imminent danger in the other room.
Creeping back in, she reached the woman, who was MUCH bigger than her. She had to be five ten, and a good three hundred pounds of bulk.
Lordy, but she was going to have to take down Goliath and quietly.
This was going to be difficult if she was armed and heard her coming.
Adder was barely five-foot-five in her boots, and one twenty soaking wet with a baby on board.
Well, this was going to be a fight. Women ALWAYS fought like wildcats.
As the woman sat on the couch, it was clear she hadn’t heard what happened in the other room. There was no way she’d get backup either. Mamba couldn’t come in the door.
Shila, if that was her, was facing it.
Moving toward the couch, she knew what she needed to take her down.
Leverage.
Literally.
Moving quickly, she grabbed the woman’s head, jumped over the couch in a flip, taking the bigger woman with her.
Shila never saw it coming.
Thanks to momentum of Eve’s body, Shila was taken for a ride and onto the table before crashing through it.
The sound was ridiculous.
“EVELYN!” Dakota said. “I will get my ass into a car and drive there!” her husband warned. “Test me!”
She grinned.
As she was getting up, Eve noticed that the woman was out cold.
“I’m good, Honey. Both parties are contained,” she said. “Mamba, it’s clear to enter.”
There was an audible sigh over the transmission, and she just shook her head.
This wasn’t her first day doing shit like this. Eve had taken down bigger prospects and in more dangerous situations.
“Dakota, chill. Really. I’m good.”
“What was that crash?” he asked.
She explained.
“That was a three-hundred-pound woman going through a glass coffee table. Kinda like the one you went through being a dumbass and annoying people.”
He laughed as did everyone else.
“Thank you, Evelyn. I love being reminded of my issues.”
Before she could say anything, it was the major’s voice that came over the com.
“Get what you can from them, and then sanitize the scene. We need to know where to find Artemis.”
As Eve unlocked the door, her partner in this came in to survey the mess.
