“That’s a very true statement, my sexy Captain.”
He held her and enjoyed the scent of his wife.
“What do you think we’re having?” he asked, curious if she could tell. Wasn’t that a woman thing?
Maura smiled.
“Do you really want to know what I think, or do you want me to guess?” she asked.
Oh, he did want the former, not the latter.
They had a while until they could get an ultrasound. The suspense…
He was going nuts.
“Please tell me what you think.”
She was honest.
“Well, this pregnancy doesn’t feel like the one I had when I was pregnant with Michael. I’m sick more, so I think you’re getting your next girl. That would be my bet.”
He grinned.
There was a twinkle in his eyes as he enjoyed that moment.
“I do dig girls.”
Oh, she was aware.
He was a girl dad.
Jagger was honest.
“Dianna deserves a sister. I mean, if I have to have ten boys before the next girl to get one…”
That was all she had to hear.
Maura grabbed his arm, twisted it behind his back, and sat on his ass as she cuffed him.
“You take that shit back. You remove that ten baby BS from the universe right now, Jagger Armstrong!”
He laughed.
“BABY!”
“You take that back, Jagger. If you think I’m letting your lapsed Catholic upbringing stretch my uterus out to be a parachute, you’re out of your mind.”
He snorted.
“Okay! Not Ten!” he said when she twisted his thumb. “Two more! Five! I like five! It’s a good number!”
She released his thumb and hopped off of the bed, leaving him handcuffed.
“Some of the men in this house are out of their goddamn minds. Ten babies. What the hell happened? Someone hit his damn head to even go there,” she said, walking into the bathroom.
Jagger watched the sway of her naked ass, and he felt himself reacting to that visual of the wetness from him on her cheeks.
Damn, but he was a lucky man.
