Someone had drawn the line in the sand.
What really scared him was Elizabeth had been right. There was such vitriol there, and it was clear that Tommy hated the man beside him. He blamed him for everything when Ethan had never been inappropriate. The man beside him was only trying to hold Gene up.

“Worse than I believed. Elizabeth was right.”

Gene handed Ethan the note and went to his suitcase to get some clean clothes.
