Maura laughed.
“That’s like telling a bunch of alcoholics to drink more.”
To prove her point, Jagger pulled her down and she landed in his lap. She was his addiction of choice.
“Don’t get spicy, Mar. You know I like it.”
She snorted.
Before anyone could bitch anymore, Reaper had something for them.
“Well, I have news.”
Maura was curious.
“What?”
He shared.
“Well, as I was watching the house that your Snakes slithered into, I got a call.”
She lifted a brow.
“Apparently, someone wants to hire me for my services. I’m to abduct two people.”
They all looked at Maura and Jagger.
Only, Reaper shut that down.
“Nope. Them,” he said, pointing at Merry and Boone. “I’m to take them to be used as collateral. Artemis wants them taken to a location.”

He passed the address across the table to the woman he once served beneath.
“I’m to bring them there, and then I get paid the other half. I was told once I walk in, the other half of the money will be deposited in my account. When do you want me to take them?”
From where she was sitting, Merry gasped.
“Hey now!” she said. “What the hell do you mean by that? You’re not taking us anywhere.”
Her husband agreed.
Boone stared at the man.
“I know why Eve and Jinx wanted to shoot you. I’m not liking you all that much.”
He laughed.
“Stop. Right now, your Major is running the numbers to see if using you as bait will get you Artemis.”
They all looked at her.
“Maura!” Merry said.
