“The one and only,” Jagger admitted. “He was part of our team and one of the reasons we survived that day. Lewis is part of us,” he added. “A very important part.”

Lewis was glad he finally got to reveal himself.

“I hear you finally cleaned up that mess. It took you long enough,” he said, grinning at the two people he respected more than anything.

The Major…

She was exemplary, and there wasn’t a finer leader in the military than her. She’d sacrificed a lot on that mission when they were trapped in the guerilla hell.

He’d never forget it.

She was the pinnacle.

It had been so hard not to stop in and see them. He’d been following them and giving them cover for the last two weeks, and he’d wanted to break cover so badly to say hello.

They had been through so much together.

Elizabeth took over.

“Only, he’s not here for just a reunion. I’d like to formally introduce you all to Reaper. He’s special forces and works for the CIA as a Spider.”

Adder and Mamba both gasped.

Like Snakes, the Spiders didn’t mingle. Reaper, Wolf, the Huntsman, and Recluse were solitary agents of chaos.

If there were two in a room or more, it was bad.

VERY.

VERY.

BAD.

Now, Adder and Mamba pulled their guns, freaking Zayn out even more.

“The ladies love me,” Lewis said. “See?” he asked. “I get that reaction a lot, but most of the time, no one lives to see the outcome.”

Yeah, there were some stressed Marines in the room.

That was never good either.

“At ease, Marines,” Elizabeth said.

Only, Zayn wasn’t feeling very at ease. When Jinx and Eve reacted that way, that meant one thing.

TROUBLE.

He was honest.

“I fucking hate spiders. In fact, I really hate anyone in the CIA. They screw you over every single time—case in point, Artemis Dubois!”

The room got tense.

Well, that escalated.

Fast.
