Jagger looked at his wife.
“I will kick your ass, Captain,” she said. “If you even suggest Jinx and I leave so you can wear a bullseye, I’m going to take out my brass, and shove it up your ass.”
He laughed.
“Pregnancy has made you mean again.”
Elizabeth blinked.
“Wait. There’s a baby on board?” she asked.
Maura nodded.
“Yep. My Captain knocked me up, again.”
Elizabeth headed her way and gave her a hug.
“I’m happy for you, and scared shitless all at the same time.”
Yeah, Maura wasn’t.
“I’m vicious when I am pregnant.”
Reaper was curious.
“How did that Marine,” he began, pointing at Jagger, “finally manage to get you? We were all betting against that,” he teased.
“It’s my fucking winning personality,” Jagger said.
Maura laughed and gave her husband a kiss.
“I dig a redhead. He makes cute kids.”
Elizabeth began pacing.
“Uh-oh, she’s planning something,” Ivan said. “Everyone put on your Kevlar undies. Someone’s getting shot. I’m that someone.”
When she stopped pacing, she focused on the ex-CIA man.
Elizabeth was very specific.
“We have to think like Artemis. She did this in small steps. Let’s do it the same way.”
“What do you mean?” Remington asked.
She smiled.
“I think I know how we can do this.”
Then, she went to MATE.
“Pull up the four victims for me, again, holograms, please.”
MATE did.
“Remmy, I need you to find the mercenaries that killed these people. We’re going to backtrack it. We know she hired mercenaries, and I’m betting not for the Russian.”
They let her talk.
