The roads were mostly empty which resulted in a very short drive to the Aghayan mansion. Even though it was legally hers now, she couldn’t just change its name. In her mind, it would always belong to the Aghayan family.

Jaxon stopped as close to the door as he could. Jensen told her to stay in the car, then he and Jaxon got out and walked around to her side. Their eyes darted around, looking for anything out of the ordinary.

“Stay between us and keep your head low,” Jensen said when he opened the door.

Sienna did as he instructed even though it was weird and scary as hell. They weren’t far from the door and the moment that they entered, the guys let her go. Jaxon even offered to take her vest off, which she happily accepted.

“Sienna,” Samson greeted her when they entered. His eyes jumped to Jensen and Jaxon, and he reluctantly bowed his head, although it was clear that he didn’t think highly of them.

“Mr. Ball,” Jensen said in greeting, ignoring Samson’s lack of manners, and offered him a hand.

Jaxon lived up to Samson’s expectations, his attention long gone as he looked around the hall. It was an act that the youngest Carrington heir liked to put up to get people’s guard down and make himself look irresponsible, but Sienna knew that he was aware of everything that was going on and heard every word that was said. Jaxon was the master at playing games.

“Hi, Samson. How have you been?” Sienna asked him, then quickly decided to go for a hug instead of a handshake. The young lawyer didn’t seem to mind as he was happy to see her too.

“Busy, you know,” he replied with a smile. “We’re still working on those backup plans I’ve mentioned, but I’m confident that we’ll have something lined up soon. Speaking of, my dad asked me to give you his apologies for not being able to be here even though he said he would. Something came up and he was called in to take care of it.”

“Nothing major, I hope.”

“No, no, nothing for you to worry about,” Samson said with a wave of his hand in dismissal. “The only thing I can tell you for sure now is to expect the call to come to the office soon. The documents have been mostly prepared, but as I said, we want to have everything lined up, so you won’t need to come twice.”

“That’s great news, Samson. I really appreciate all your hard work,” Sienna said and patted his shoulder.

“No thanks needed. It’s my job and I take it very seriously,” Samson replied, then gestured down the hall. “Shall we go?”

Sienna exchanged a look with Jensen, who gave her a subtle nod, then she turned back to Samson and smiled. “Lead the way.”

They followed Samson to what looked like a living room. Tina was already waiting for them, and when she saw Sienna, she got up and approached her with swift steps, then threw her arms around her, pulling her into an unexpected hug. Sienna hesitated for the shortest of moments before returning it.

“I’m so sorry for not doing anything sooner,” Tina said after the hug ended. “I should’ve done something before they married you off to Kyle.”

“Yeah, you should’ve,” Jaxon growled, causing Tina to jump two steps backward, her eyes full of fear.

“Back off,” Sienna snapped at Jaxon. “You weren’t there and have no idea how scary the whole situation was. It’s not her fault.”

“Sienna’s right,” Jensen agreed and took a slow but deliberate step toward Tina. He offered her his hand. “I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced. My name is Jensen Carrington, and I’m the eldest heir.”

Tina glanced at Sienna, who gave her a small nod in encouragement. “Tina Remington,” she told him and shook his head. “I suppose you know all about me.”

“More or less,” Jensen replied with a small smile to put her at ease, then gestured with his head at Jaxon. “That asshole right there is my youngest brother.”

“Also known as Jaxon,” Jaxon said with a roll of his eyes, his earlier hostility gone.

“Nice to meet you,” Tina said and even though she sounded polite, her eyes still showed signs of fear.

“How about we sit down?” Sienna asked, gesturing at the empty sofas in the middle of the room. “We could also get a cup of coffee or something. What do you think? That way we’ll be more comfortable to talk.”

Sienna picked a spot next to Tina, wanting to be closer when they talked. Jaxon and Jensen sat on the opposite side, while Samson picked a chair in between. They waited in an awkward silence for the coffee to be brought.

Playing with her spoon and stirring the milk in her coffee, Sienna decided it was time to get down to business. She took a sip of the coffee before setting it on the table, then cleared her throat and waited for Tina to do the same. When she did, Sienna took her hands in hers.

“The last time we saw each other, I promised you that you’d be taken care of,” Sienna told her earnestly. “I’ve come to keep my promise.”

“Really?” Tina asked, her eyes full of hope. “I thought you were just saying those things to get me to help you. I didn’t actually believe that you’d go through with it once you were out of mortal danger.”

Sienna shook her head and squeezed Tina’s hand. The Carringtons and the Lockwoods weren’t too happy about it, but it was her decision.

“In her last moments, Dalia had asked me to protect you,” Sienna confided, then joked, “Although, I think you’ve done a better job than me.”
