“Hello?” Xavier said, answering the call.

Sienna whipped her head around, her eyes on Xavier, trying to take in everything that was being said. Because of the one-sided conversation and his non-committal throaty muttering, she couldn’t understand much. Jensen was just as anxious as she was to hear the news. He bounced his leg up and down throughout the whole conversation and the moment Xavier hung up, Jensen drilled him.

“What happened?” Jensen asked, sounding far from composed. “Who was on the phone?”

Xavier scratched his chin, seemingly unaffected as if he didn’t have a single care in the world. When Jensen let out a low growl, Xavier finally looked up, his eyes a bit unfocused.

“The satellite images show that Kyle was in the area, but something must’ve made him change his mind because he was seen leaving the scene soon after,” Xavier said at last.

“He must’ve spotted our men,” Aiden said from the driver’s seat.

“Did anyone try to catch him? Are they following him now?” Sienna asked with an angry voice, frustrated that the nightmare didn’t have an end in sight.

“That’s just it,” Xavier started, then looked up at Jensen, his eyes seeming to clear up a bit before he finally continued, “We’ve been able to get the general feel of his location through the satellite images and Lockwood sent his private military there.”

“For fuck’s sake, Xavier, spit it out already,” Jensen bellowed, his lack of composure surprising everyone. It was so unlike him to be out of control and snapping at his brothers didn’t go well with his usually calm character.

Sienna suspected that there was something else on Jensen’s mind, but now wasn’t the place nor the time to dive into that. Besides, she was also eager to know what else was said on the phone.

“Kyle wasn’t there. They only found the car that he was using before torching it up and abandoning it in the middle of nowhere. However, they followed the tracks and arrived at an abandoned warehouse of sorts,” Xavier said, everyone in the car holding onto his every word. “They found dead bodies. Tortured and mutilated bodies of women who wore wigs and dressed up in a certain manner to look more like…”

Xavier trailed off, but he didn’t need to continue because Sienna knew exactly what he wanted to say. Jaxon was the only one who wasn’t as quick to connect the dots.

“Looked like who?” he asked, turning in his seat to be able to see better.

“Who?” he asked again when no one answered.

“Like Sienna,” Aiden said with a cold calmness that made it clear he was aware of just how big of a threat Kyle presented.

“Fuck,” Jaxon muttered, his eyes wide with horror.

“How many?” Sienna asked, needing to know the number of people that died because of her.

“I don’t know,” Xavier replied vaguely.

“Yes, you do,” Sienna insisted, confident that he had the information.

“Why does it matter?” Jensen asked, agreeing with Xavier that there was no need to get into it.

“It matters to me, okay?” Sienna said with a harsher tone than necessary, but right now she didn’t care. She hated having things kept from her. “Just answer my fucking question.”

Xavier hesitated long enough for Tina to speak up. “They found seven bodies. I heard it through his phone.”

Sienna pursed her lips in a thin line and gave Tina a small nod. Some unspeakable bond was formed between the two of them. It was as if their alliance was confirmed. The Carrington heirs might be Sienna’s chosen family and the Lockwoods her biological family, but they weren’t the only new additions to her life. Tina was her only connection to her old and original family. She was a Ryder and Sienna would never give up her rights to that name. In a weird and twisted way that had been developed through generations of kidnapping, Tina was her sister.

“I want to see,” Sienna said at last.

“No way in hell,” Jensen replied, his voice firm and full of authority.

Sienna didn’t bother looking at him because right now he wasn’t in charge. It was Aiden whose eyes she met in the rearview mirror. Jensen noticed and followed her gaze.

“Take us home, Aiden,” Jensen ordered.

Aiden shifted uncomfortably and hesitated. Xavier and Jaxon wisely stayed out of it, with Jaxon going as far as to pretend he was attentively staring at something out the window.

“Aiden,” Jensen warned with a low and rough voice.

“My dad’s people are there and I’m pretty sure that’s the last place Kyle will be right now,” Sienna insisted, trying to convince him.
