“Don’t worry, I have the perfect idea for how to pass the time,” Jaxon said, his insinuation far from subtle. “Besides, it was you who suggested it anyway.”

Sienna’s cheeks turned red, coloring even the tips of her ears. Her stomach did a small somersault, and she flexed her muscles down there, feeling the wetness soaking through her panties.

Sex talk was nothing to be ashamed of in the current company. The Carrington heirs and Adrianna enjoyed exchanging comments and flirtations, but it wasn’t as easy for Sienna. She grew up in a different household with different rules. Sex wasn’t a taboo, but it also wasn’t such an open topic as the Carringtons made it to be.

“If your massage reaches my expectations, then you might be eligible for a small reward,” Sienna replied, taking the control back into her own hands.

“You’re going to give her a massage?” Adrianna asked bewildered.

Her eyes darted from Jaxon to Sienna and back to Jaxon, her mouth open in surprise. Sienna’s brows furrowed and she tilted her head to the side, unsure what the big deal was, while Jaxon only shrugged.

“That’s not fair!” Adrianna cried out. “I’ve been trying to get you to give me a massage for years and now that she asks you for it, you do it without a problem? Why? What’s the difference?”

“Don’t go there, Ade. Just drop it,” Jaxon warned, his grin falling away as darkness settled on his face.

“No, I want to know,” Adrianna insisted.

Sienna looked at the other heirs for assistance, but they were wisely pretending to be busy with moving around the food on their plates. It must’ve been a big deal for even them to stay out of it.

“Fine,” Jaxon groaned, then looked her in the eyes and said with a rude voice, “The reason why I never gave you a massage was because you were easy. I didn’t need to put any effort to get into your pants. There was no work, no excitement, just sex.”

Adrianna’s eyes teared up and before Sienna could talk to her, she slammed the cutlery on the table, got up and rushed out of the room.

“Adrianna!” Sienna called after her, but it was too late. She turned to Jaxon, her eyes full of anger. “Why do you always have to be such a fucking jerk?”

“Don’t put this on me. I warned her not to push it,” Jaxon insisted, got up and went to his room.

Sienna shook her head in disbelief and looked at the other heirs, who finally lifted their eyes from their plates. Jensen was the only one who returned her look.

“I don’t know what else you expected from Jaxon. That’s just the way he is,” Jensen said with a shrug. “I have to go talk to my dad about something and considering that Aiden and Xavier have their own work to do, I’m sorry to tell you that you’re going to have to go to Jaxon.”

“No way!” Sienna exclaimed. “Not until he apologizes to Ade.”

“He won’t apologize and frankly, he doesn’t need to,” Jensen said sharply. “You’ll go to him because he’s the only heir left, and you know the rules. Don’t make me enforce them.”

Sienna looked to Aiden who lifted his hands up in a gesture that told her not to bring him into it, but at least he didn’t avert his gaze like Xavier, who simply grabbed his laptop and left with mumbled apologies.

“I want to see you go to him before we leave,” Jensen told her.

“You’re all fucking assholes,” Sienna said, then sighed and got up.

She didn’t have any other option but to go to the king ass. That didn’t mean that she would let his comment to Adrianna slide. Quite the opposite, he’d have to listen to what she had to say, and only if she liked his response, he’d be allowed out of the dog house.

When she reached Jaxon’s room, she raised her arm, knocked, then strained her ears for a reply. It didn’t take long for Jaxon to invite her in.

“Sienna,” he greeted her with a smile as if they haven’t seen each other in forever. “Such a lovely surprise to have you here. What can I do for you?”

As he asked her that, he suggestively sat on a massage table and played with a towel. Sienna took a breath, struggling to keep the resolve to do what she came to do.

“Why did you have to be such a jerk?” she asked, the words coming out with a lot less anger than she expected. “What did Adrianna ever do to you?”

“It’s more complicated than that,” Jaxon said and sighed. It wasn’t much but at least he was talking to her.

“Start explaining. We have nothing but time,” Sienna told him as she sat on the sofa and crossed her arms over her chest.

Jaxon tilted his head to the side, his brows furrowing. His eye was twitching, and she braced herself for either a verbal attack or maybe even a semi-physical threat with which he’d attempt to put her in her place. She kept her eyes locked on his and watched him like a hawk. He was bigger and scarier, but she was his equal and would not be disrespected. After what felt like forever, Jaxon finally rolled his eyes and sat next to her.

“I’m worried that if I’d given Ade a massage, she’d read into it more than what it really was,” he admitted.
