Sienna’s knees were on each side of Jaxon’s lap, giving her the ability to raise and lower her body at will. She raised up to get better access to Jaxon’s mouth, kissing him hungrily while pulling at his blonde curls that were long overdue for a haircut.

He moaned in her mouth, the vibration sending shivers to her softest parts, and she was eager to touch his hardest. Slowly, as if teasingly, she lowered herself onto his lap until her pussy rubbed against his fully erected cock. Jaxon grabbed at his clothes, shifting himself so the jeans weren’t pressing into him. He said a low curse, something about the stupid fabric separating them.

Sienna deepened the kiss and kept a rubbing movement going, making sure to travel up and down his whole shaft. She wanted him to feel her wetness, wanted him to know it was all for him and because of him.

She jerked off Jaxon’s lap and broke the kiss at the sound of a loud knock on the window. A quick glance out told her they’d arrived.

“Fuck,” she muttered under her breath and ignored Jaxon’s low chuckle.

He was just as affected by their sudden interruption as she was. All she had to do to make herself look presentable was to fix her hair, while Jaxon had to deal with his bulk.

Thinking she had more time, Sienna held back a curse as Jaxon opened the door, not waiting for her to freshen up. He stepped out with his erection fully on display, giving Tyson and Lara Vang one of his brilliant smiles. To their credit, they ignored Jaxon’s not-so-little problem, while their daughter Miruna pointedly stared at it with a raised eyebrow and suggestive smile that Sienna didn’t like one bit. It didn’t help that Miruna was a tall model-like beauty with curves that guys would kill for. Sienna didn’t even know her, and she already hated her.

Jaxon didn’t wait for Sienna to exit the car as he walked to the Vangs and greeted them. Brian stayed by the door, offering Sienna his hand to help her out. She took it, then looked him in the eyes, trying to silently communicate how grateful she was. Beyond giving her a curt nod, he didn’t react or say anything. With a sigh, Sienna forced a smile on her face and walked up to the Vang family.

“Mr. Vang, Mrs. Vang, and Miss Vang,” Jaxon said, giving Miruna a wink, before turning to Sienna, “May I present you Miss Sienna Ryder.”

Sienna resisted the temptation to curtsy and instead offered her hand to the head of the family. Mr. Vang shook it, gripping it tighter than needed as if testing her. He narrowed his eyes at her for the shortest of moments, then nodded in approval.

“Please, call me Tyson,” he told Sienna, then turned to his family. “This is my wife Lara, and my daughter Miruna.”

“Sienna,” she repeated a bit awkwardly, trying to get the stupid formalities out of the way. “Thank you for having us.”

“It’s our pleasure,” Tyson told her, and kept her gaze as they both ignored the flirting looks Miruna and Jaxon were throwing at each other.

Sienna hid her hands behind her back, gripping them in tight fists. She wanted to hit someone, and she wasn’t entirely sure whether it was Jaxon or Miruna.

Tyson gestured them inside the luxurious apartment complex where they owned a fair number of floors, combining them into one massive apartment that Vangs considered as their second home. Their primary residence was in Sienna’s hometown where they owned a house quite close to where the Remingtons had theirs.

A loud honk startled Sienna, bringing her attention to the angry-looking taxi driver who impatiently waited behind the black limousine that brought them to their temporary residence. Sienna stole a quick glance around, taking in the busy streets that were so unlike the ones in her city, and yet she couldn’t quite pinpoint why they were different. It must’ve been that New Yorkers had a different air to them and went around with a different kind of energy to what she was used to.

Sienna turned her attention to the few steps she had to climb to enter the apartment building. An older-looking gentleman in a security uniform opened the door and nodded politely at Tyson.

Miruna hooked her arm through Jaxon’s and was excitedly whispering something in his ear, causing his goofy grin to grow. Sienna took a shaky breath, telling herself that she didn’t care about them, and that Jaxon was an idiot anyway. She was lucky that Miruna took an interest in him because that meant he’d leave her alone and there was a possibility that she could actually have a nice trip without him breathing down her neck.

“Are you okay?” Brian’s words startled her, and only now did she realize she was left behind, her eyes throwing daggers at the soon-to-be lovers.

Sienna shrugged. “I’m fine, just tired.”

“That won’t last, you know,” Brian told her, tilting his head toward Jaxon and Miruna’s direction. “He likes the thrill of something new and is a sucker for romance, but nothing more. His attention span is worse than the baby’s.”

“I told you I’m fine. I don’t care about Jaxon,” Sienna snapped, narrowing her eyes at Brian.

Brian bowed his head in apology. “I didn’t mean to offend you. I just wanted to let you know that if there’s anything I can help you with, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I really do mean anything.”

Sienna looked up at the heavy emphasis on the last word. Brian’s hazel eyes twinkled with something that she couldn’t quite place, and she wasn’t sure if they were on the same page about whatever it was that he was insinuating. At a loss for words, all Sienna managed was a small nod, then hurried into the building behind everyone else.

They hadn’t been in New York for an hour, and she was already confused, frustrated, and tired. The mix of emotions made her hungry and she hoped that it wouldn’t be too long until their meal.

She took a separate elevator with Brian and the limousine driver, both of them carrying the many bags from the car. Jaxon didn’t even appear to notice that she didn’t join them in their elevator. It wasn’t a good start of the mission for her to avoid the hosts. Sienna promised herself to put her personal feelings aside and be more professional. Besides, the sooner the mission was done, the sooner she’d be able to go home.

Sienna was done with New York City.

CHAPTER 11

Siennabarelysteppedintoher room to freshen up when she’d been delivered a message that Tyson and Lara wanted to talk to her and Jaxon as soon as possible, which was how they found themselves in what they called a tearoom.

Sienna sat on the sofa next to Jaxon, poured the milk into her black tea, then stirred it with a spoon. It’d been a while since she last enjoyed a good cup of tea, especially a high-quality black one. Jaxon didn’t seem impressed because he was more of a coffee person, but the Vangs didn’t offer him one.
