I nodded, acknowledging to myself that he was right. I was fearful. And I bet that Harlow was feeling the same thing. Now that we could admit our feelings for each other, and act on them, reality had hit, reminding us about all the other shit that comes with a relationship. As soon as the opportunity presented itself, we would need to talk. We hadn't made any plans after today, but she had shared her busy schedule with me. If I were going to see her it would be after hours.

"Ozzie Berret Colburn!"

We both jolted at the venom in JoJo's scream and snapped our heads in her direction. Everyone knew when your full name was used it meant business. "Fuck, Brother, that's not a good sign."

"Get over here and help me get your kids!" She slapped her hands on her hips and blew her bangs out of her eyes. Her pretty face was red, and it was clear that she had reached the end of her patience.

Oz snorted with humor. "So now they'remykids?" He got to his feet and glanced down at me. "So worth it, Brother."

He sprinted off and I watched them for a minute. JoJo gave him a glare as he approached her and stood back as all Oz had to do to get the kids to halt and run over to him was give a holler. I had to snicker at the look of disbelief JoJo gave him. He’d made it look so easy. She and Raven said a few words to each other, and then Raven walked away with her little ones skipping behind her.

Old ladies and kids were heading home for the day. Some of Trip's crew with families themselves had taken off. He and Murphy were still around, along with some of his men. Probably inside drinking with Demon while they waited to hear from Cole and BF. Demon had ordered those of us without families to hang around in case we needed to ride out in a hurry.

"Later, Brother!"

I acknowledged Oz with a chin lift as he walked off, a small hand in each of his while JoJo had the youngest one in her arms. Soon it was just me sitting at the picnic tables. The silence after so many hours filled with yelling and laughing and the drone of adult conversations was welcoming. It wouldn't be long, and the sun would be going down.

"Doc."

I turned my head to see Mitzi approaching. I couldn't tell what she was thinking, but there was a look in her eyes that I wasn't accustomed to seeing, from her, or any other club whore, for that matter. They were typically happy and carefree and rolled with the punches. But this look on Mitzi peaked my curiosity.

"What's up?"

She appeared nervous. "Can we talk?"

Well, this was different. "Sure. What about?" Club girls weren't known for talking, and this sounded as if it was going to be a serious conversation.

I watched her swallow before sitting next to me. Fuck, I hoped she wasn't there to talk about our situation, because I'd nip that shit in the bud quick. Mitzi had been with the club for a long time, so she knew the rules. She knew I'd been using her to give Harlow the wrong impression. We may have gotten a little frisky here and there for affect, but I hadn't been fucking her. Not recently anyway.

"I just took a pregnancy test. I'm pregnant, Doc!"

Woah! Not what I’d been expecting to hear. I knew it wasn't mine, and I knew better than to question her about protection. All our girls were on the pill, and my brothers were told to suit up for added protection, but neither of those precautions were a hundred percent fail proof. It suddenly occurred to me that Mitzi was there to talk to me in a doctor-patient capacity, which caused me to relax.

"Not gonna ask you howthathappened." I made eye contact with her. "You even have a guess at who the father is?"

She shook her head, her eyes filled with liquid regret. "I'm not sure I want it, Doc. I think I want to get an abortion."

I released a long breath, realizing why she'd sought me out. "It's too soon for you to make that kind of decision. You're in shock. You just found out that you're pregnant, you haven't had time to adjust to that." I pointed out. "And the fact you said youthinkyou want an abortion tells me you need to think it over first and be absolutely sure it's what you want."

She listened quietly while I spoke.

"How far along do you think you are?" I ran my gaze over her slender body, but there was no way to tell.

"About six weeks."

I nodded. "You have plenty of time to think about it. Don't rush into any decisions right now. You're not getting any younger." I knew she was in her mid-thirties. She elbowed me in the ribs, causing us both to smile. "If you ever wanted children this might be the time, and you know the club will take care of you."

It was a commitment we made when the girls signed on. We'd take care of them as long as they remained in the club, pregnancy or illness included.

"But I won't be able to..."

I grinned, understanding where she was going without her having to finish her sentence. "You can take care of my brothers right up until the end if that's what you want. Some guys get off fucking pregnant chicks."

She laughed, her expression softening with relief.

"If you want time off, not a problem."

"Would you be my doctor? If I decide to keep it?"
