Luke tugged me out of the way before bending over, standing the man. “What do you mean, you were hired?”

As I readied myself to leap forward once again, Ian’s palm struck my chest. Withdrawing his arm, he pinned the cigarette between his fingers, taking a stride forward. Once again, he blew smoke into the man’s face. “Who hired you to take photos of Amber?”

“Who’s Amber?” Tears streamed down his cheeks. “I have a family! You have to let me go!”

Luke lifted the corner of his lip in disgust. “Just answer the fucking question.”

Shaking his head, the man thought for a moment. “I don’t know his name. Can I please go? You’ve destroyed my camera and—”

“What did he look like?” Ian snapped.

“I don’t know, like you,” he gestured to Ian, “but with a weird accent, I guess.”

“Like me?” Ian cocked his head, taking the final drag of his cigarette before pressing it into the ashtray on the table next to him. “What do you mean?”

“Features like yours with slightly lighter hair.”

Ian turned to Ice Man. “Find out who the fuck let him with a camera and handle it.”

AMBER

While dancing, I saw a commotion in VIP, but it was hard to make out what was going on. I only prayed Chance wasn’t beating the shit out of Alejandro. The stage lights were almost blinding tonight, flashing more than normal, rotating with the music. The moment my set was over, I sped to the dressing room, switching into only a skimpy white lace dress and stilettos.

Hurrying to the executive office lobby, I kept a smile, in case I passed anyone. Throwing the doors open, I stepped through, exasperated, desperate to know what was happening. Alejandro stood alone in the middle of the lobby, puffing a cigar. Turning to me with a grin, he took several preying strides in my direction.

“Um,” I glanced toward Ian’s office, “where is everyone?”

Exhaling a thick cloud of smoke, he shrugged a shoulder. “Handling some capullo. They’re all downstairs.”

“Mm-kay, but why are you up here all alone?”

He inched closer, coming to a stop way too close for my comfort. “Eres mía.”

A shudder crept down my spine as his words penetrated my nape. A light in the back of the room caught my attention as I franticly tried to find a distraction. Backing away, I tilted my head, pointing toward the open door.

“Was Ian’s office open when you came up here?”

He glanced over his shoulder before letting his gaze rest on me once again. “I didn’t really pay attention. Why?”

Before I could answer him, the door behind me opened. Ice Man entered, followed by Ian, Luke, Chance, and Tyler.

“Amber, why are you—” Ian froze, staring at his office. Turning to Alejandro and me, he pointed at the open double doors. “Why is my office open?”

Glancing at Alejandro, I shook my head. “No clue. It was that way when I got up here.”

“And it was that way when I got up here as well.” But he’d told me he wasn’t paying attention.

Darting his eyes back and forth between us, he glowered, rushing to his office. “Where the fuck is it?”

We all followed. He was yanking every drawer in his office open, then stomped to his desk, snatching another open. “Where the fuck is it?!”

“What are you looking for?” Tyler asked.

Luke shook his head. “Oh, no.”

Ian froze, lifting his head. “What?”

“Are you looking for what I think you are?”
