“As soon as possible, maybe even tomorrow?”

Although he felt as if he’d pressured her into this, he was proud that she wanted to stay with him. She wanted to be by his side no matter what. It filled his whole heart with joy.

“I’ll ask Tristan to bring us the truck, so we have enough space.”

“Perfect.” She grinned from ear to ear and no doubt was to be seen.

They had a quick dinner and she even admitted that she was exhausted and wanted to sleep. He watched as she cuddled up in his bed and fell asleep instantly. He pulled out his phone and texted Tristan as he walked out the door and sat on the porch.

I need the truck.

On my way.

Thirty minutes later, Blake heard the old truck driving down the dirt road before he even saw it. Tristan parked the truck next to Blake’s bike and jumped out. He looked tired but had a big smile beaming across his friendly face.

“Will I meet her?”

“Tomorrow. She’s exhausted and has gone to bed already.” That seemed to disappoint Tristan. “It’s been a lot for her to take in and process.”

“If I found out that the man I was dating is a werewolf I would’ve probably called it a day and left your crazy ass.”

“You’re an asshole.” Blake playfully hit Tristan’s shoulder as he sat down next to him. “Tomorrow evening when you pick up the truck, we can have dinner together and you two can get to know each other.”

Tristan seemed to like that idea. “Meeting her and food? You’re spoiling me.” His genuine excitement warmed Blake’s heart.

“There is something I need to talk to you about.”

Tristan fused his eyebrows, already preparing to scold Blake for what ever fuck up he was going to tell him about. “Please don’t tell me you already fucked this up. You told her you’re a werewolf, she met your family, and she’s still by your side, please don’t tell me you regret it or ruined it somehow.” Tristan had always wanted for Blake to be happy and have a family.

“The only reason father allowed her here is because I fucked up in the first place.” Blake could see the wheels turning in Tristan’s head as he was trying to make sense of his words. “Tristan, Niev is pregnant.”

Tristan took a while to process the information. His face kept changing emotions and went from disbelief, to worry, then to excitement before circling back to disbelief.

“Are you serious? Please don’t tell me you’re just messing with me. Because if you think this is some kind of sick joke, I’ll find a way to kill you.”

“It’s not a joke.”

“You’re going to be a father?”

“Yes.”

Tristan leaped forward. Wrapping his arms around Blake, he picked him up and spun him around in pure excitement, “Congrats!”

“Okay, okay.” Blake tried to catch his breath and free himself from Tristan’s tight grip. “You can let me down again and lower your voice before you wake her up.”

“Sorry.” Tristan set him back on the floor and stepped back. Blake could see a huge grin on his face before it quickly turned serious. “Why don’t you seem excited?”

Blake sat back down. “You know why. What if it’s a boy?”

Tristan’s face darkened as he understood the deeper meaning of Blake’s words. “I think he’ll be fine. He has you as a father.”

“I don’t think that’s a good thing.”

“Of course it is.” Tristan sat back down next to him and laid his hand on Blake’s shoulder, squeezing him. “You had no idea what was going to happen. You were blindsided but if you have a son, you’ll be able to teach him. You’ll be by his side every step of the way. Look there is only a slight possibility of you having a son. You’re an alpha which means it is less than a fifty percent chance of you having a boy.”

Blake knew Tristan was right but that didn’t diminish his fear.

“Have you told her?”
