“Yes, she knows about the whole alpha thing and agrees with you.”

“Now I like her even more.”

“She’s been amazing. I explained everything and she just accepted it without a second thought. I’ve messed up so bad and yet she’s still here and wants to be by my side not just for the baby but for me.”

“I never thought I would ever have a chance to say this to you and I know I haven’t met her yet, but you better not fuck this up. She seems like a good woman.”

“I mean you did meet her, but you were too busy yelling at me to let me introduce her to you.”

“Yeah, and now I feel bad about that.” They both chuckled. “What do you need the truck for?”

“I explained the whole Skadu Pack situation to her and that I might not be able to visit her a lot until we solve this. She decided she would like to stay with me and move here for the time being.”

“Really?”

“Yes, I told her she didn’t need to rush it or anything. She still has a job and her own apartment, but she insisted, and I can’t say no to her.”

Tristan chuckled. “Clearly you can’t. So, you’re gonna move her here in the next few days?”

“Yes, she said she would like to go to her apartment tomorrow and pack up a few things and go talk to her boss.”

“Well, it seems like you twowill havea few busy days ahead of you. I’ll let you get some rest.” He got up and handed Blake the keys to the truck. “See you tomorrow evening. I have to go and take over Armando’s patrol.”

“Thank you.” Blake was profoundly grateful to be able to call Tristan his best friend.

“I can’t wait to meet her. Let me know if I need to bring anything for dinner.”

Blake watched as Tristan walked toward the tree line and disappeared. Tristan was right, he and Niev did have a busy day ahead, so he walked inside and cuddled up next to her in bed.

A New Chapter In Life

“Good morning, beautiful.”

Niev felt the bed dip in next to her and a warm hand touched her cheek. She slowly opened her eyes to see Blake looking down at her, cast in a dim light. She looked over to the window only to see that the sun was barely rising, still hiding behind the trees of the forest.

Blake must have seen her confusion and quickly explained, “I know it’s still early, but if you want to take care of everything today, we should leave soon. It’s a long drive to Clemont.”

She nodded and slowly sat up rubbing her eyes.

“I made you some breakfast.” He handed her a plate with a bacon sandwich and some fruit. He leaned forward and kissed her forehead. “I’ll be in the shower if you need anything.”

She watched as he walked out of the bedroom and listened as he turned on the shower. She slowly ate her breakfast before getting dressed for the day. Blake walked in right as she buttoned up her blouse. She was a little disappointed because he was already dressed. She’d hoped to see him walk in wrapped in a towel or even naked. He came over and pulled her closer, letting her wrap her arms around his waist. With her chin resting on his chest, she looked up into his gorgeous brown eyes.

“Blake?”

“Yes, beautiful?”

“I never apologized to you.”

“There is nothing you need to apologize for.”

“Yes, there is.”

He looked confused as he stared down at her.

“I broke up with you. I hurt you. I should’ve given you more time. I should’ve been more patient with you. You tried so hard, and I was blind to the struggle you were going through just to be with me.”

This had weighed heavy on her heart. She’d hurt him, pushed him away yet there he was, by her side. He had returned to her without hesitation. She wasn’t worthy of him or his love.
