“I believe she did.”

Mayra clapped her hands together. “Well, we can talk more about this tomorrow during lunch and let Niev and Blake get some rest.”

Michael chuckled in the back and quietly said, “I don’t believe they’re going to get any rest anytime soon.”

Niev blushed and Mayra gave him a stern look before turning back to Niev and Blake. “It was a beautiful ceremony, but you two seem tired. We shouldn’t forget that Niev is still carrying twins.” She stepped closer, hugged and kissed them both on their cheek. Then she motioned everyone to help take down the lanterns while guiding Niev and Blake toward the path that would lead them home.

A Special Bond

With his hand on Niev’s waist, Blake slowly guided her to their little path. He could feel her surprise and excitement when they got closer, and she realized that the path was lit with more lanterns that led their way home.

She looked up at him, her joy spreading through his heart. “Did you know about this?”

He nodded and smiled down at her. “Yes.”

“Thank you for everything you did today.” She looked down at her wrist where his bracelet was dangling and with her free hand she reached up to his grandmother’s necklace. “You put so much thought and love and research into this and made this day so much more incredible. I don’t even have words to thank you.”

He bent down and kissed her forehead. “I don’t believe there’s a need for words. I can feel how grateful you are.”

His heart was close to exploding as her appreciation for him overpowered his own feelings. He gently guided her down the path to their new home, where she instantly teared up. Blake had spent the morning running and in the afternoon he’d decorated the house, hanging up hearts that lit up and a little banner that read ‘Just Married’.

“I don’t deserve you,” she mumbled as she slowly walked closer to their house.

“Niev, you deserve everything.”

He could feel how doubt and guilt mixed with her emotions. She truly believed shedidn’tdeserve everything, but that didn’t make her feel less appreciative and grateful. He wrapped his arms around her waist, swinging her into his arms bridal style.

She squirmed in surprise. “What are you doing?”

He chuckled and pulled her closer to his chest. “I read that the groom is supposed to carry his bride through the doors of their home on their wedding night.”

She giggled and leaned her head against his chest, soaking up the moment. He walked up the porch stairs and to the door. She reached out and opened it, allowing him to carry her inside.

As he carried her down the hallway to the bedroom, he whispered in her ear. “There is one tradition we both share. It’s my duty as your man to help you out of your dress…”

He heard her heart skip a beat and felt her arousal erupt like wildfire.

“And then show you how much I love you,” he finished.

Her breathing grew heavy and irregular as he gently set her feet on the floor, his arms around her waist to support her.

“You will?”

He stepped behind her and gently kissed her neck while slowly unzipping the dress by her lower back. “I will.”

Her gasp turned into a long soft moan. “Blake…”

“Yes, beautiful?”

Her heat flowed into his heart and stirred his desire for her even more. He slowly slipped the sleeves of her dress down her arms and let it fall to the ground, revealing her delicious figure. He caressed her neck with more kisses, slowly moving his lips toward her shoulder. His fingertips trailed down her arms, over her elbows to her wrists, gently wrapping his fingers around them. He moved her hands with him, hugging her as he caressed her skin with his lips.

Her heart was racing just as wild as his own, her heat increasing with each kiss and spilling into his soul. His wolf started to wake within him and growled, letting his chest vibrate. He caressed her earlobe, gently and playfully biting it, encouraging another moan from her lips.

As he let go of her, he whispered, “Turn around for me. Let me see my beautiful mate so I can admire you.”

She turned around, the dress still by her feet. Anxiety mixed with her arousal, as if she was afraid he wouldn’t enjoy what he saw. As he looked down on her smooth skin, her perfectly curved shape, her dainty figure compared to him, pride mixed with his desire. She was his, and his only. His gaze fell on her ever-growing bump. She carried so beautifully, with so much grace and care, that his heart couldn’t even carry the gratitude he felt for her sacrifice. She was giving up her own body to grow his blood and future. He would forever worship her for everything she’d done for him.

“That’s how you feel about me? All this time?” she asked surprised, his pride turning into hers.
