“I can do another color tomorrow, after you shower.”

I nod. “Thank you.”

“What did you get me?” he asks.

I reach over and pull out the box for the handheld massager. “For your neck and shoulders.”

Sleeping on the floor has to be hard on his body. Even though we’ve been practicing our touching and kissing, Griffin hasn’t made a move toward my bed. He’s still determined to sleep on the floor, so I thought a massager might be a necessity at this point.

Griffin laughs. “You’re right. That’s exactly what I need.”

“Last one,” I say. “An item that triggers a memory of us. We go on three.”

“One.”

“Two.”

“Three,” we say in unison, then set our items on the counter.

At first, I’m confused by what Griffin has purchased, so I watch as he picks up the keychain with a single dice dangling from it.

“The dice hanging from the door at the wedding chapel,” I tell him.

“Yeah, I remember,” he says, palming it with a thoughtful smile.

I look back down at Griffin’s item for me. A tube of lip balm.

“Lemon lip balm. It reminded me of the shots we took that night. The way you tasted when I first kissed you.”

I open the tube and twist the bottom until the balm appears at the top, then apply it to my lips. It’s soft and buttery, and the scent is sweet, like lemon candy.

Without hesitation, I lift onto my toes and press my lips to Griffin’s. The moment his tongue teases into my mouth, I pull back.

“What do you think?” I ask.

He leans forward to kiss me again. This time his hand grips the back of my neck to keep me in place. He lets his tongue lick the seam of my lips before dipping inside. When he pulls back a minute later, I’m breathless and so turned on I’ve forgotten what we’re doing here.

“Yeah, that’s it.” He nods, his eyes lingering on my lips.

Trying to pretend I’m not about to combust right now, I reach in my bag and pull out my final items.

“Something we can do on our next date night was the other item.” I place the Twister game box on the counter between us. Then place the package of Double Stuf Oreos next to it.

“Twister and Oreos,” he announces.

Twister was on Jess’s list of ice breaker games for new couples. And the Oreo personality test is something I’ve always been intrigued by. I’d almost forgotten about it until Jess mentioned it today while we were having lunch.

“And since we’re limited on time, our next date starts,” I glance at the clock on the counter, “right now.”

Griffin chuckles, his green eyes staring intently at mine. “You’re the boss.”

His words are one hundred percent sincere, but over the last few days, Griffin’s demanding kisses have taught me that while I’m in charge of running our crash course in dating, I wouldn’t be the boss in other areas. Not by a long shot.

Before my panties burst into flames, I focus on getting my mind back on track.

“Oh, but first,” I move toward the refrigerator and grab out the container of milk I bought. I pull a short glass from the cabinet and fill it with milk, then set it in front of Griffin. Placing the package of Oreos next to the milk, I pull back the tab to reveal the rows of cookies inside. “I need to know how you eat an Oreo.”

He glances at the cookies and milk, then back up to me.
