“All day and all night. You’ll be deliciously sore tomorrow.” He thrust in and pulled out.

I shuddered again. “I already want more. This is absolutely insane.”

“Soon, your thoughts will fade, and you’ll do nothing butfeel. Prepare to embrace the insanity, Nissa Jirev. You’re my mate now; you’ll never spend an eclipse out of my arms again.”

Heat flooded my body, and I clenched around Kierden’s cock, making him growl. “I like the sound of that.”

“Good. Now, open your eyes and tilt your head so you can watch me slide in and out of your channel. I want you to see yourself climax.”

More heat flared as I did as he said, and sure enough, I watched my body writhe with pleasure only moments later.

There was no thinking that day—only feeling.

And veil, I definitely understood why the fae celebrated eclipses.

Chapter29

Nissa

It was the middle of the next day before we finally made it into the dining hall, exhausted and sore, but ridiculously content. We talked with the elves—they were heading out later that day—and then chatted with Eisley and a few of the other warriors.

When we were done eating, we headed down to my farm with Bright and Death. They kept brushing up against each other’s sides and making these adorable purring noises. Kierden flashed me a grin from where he was planting seeds, and I mirrored his with my own.

Our bonded esu went off together, leaving me and Kierden to the plants near the front end of my farm.

“Have fun,”I told Bright.

She chuffed.“Oh, I will.”

My grin widened.

We finished planting where we were, and then headed out on a short walk. He captured my hand, lacing his fingers between mine and lifting my hand to his lips as we went.“Thank you for saving me,”he murmured into my mind.

“You’re the one who saved me, remember?”I tilted my head toward him, and a soft breeze caught my hair, dragging the long strands into the air. It made me think of Kaelle. The fae brought me news of her and Laeli when they returned with their empty carts after taking the extra produce to the other kingdoms, but they hadn’t told me anything that made me think anyone really knew what was happening to the human women and their kings.

I liked to believe that they were determined enough to forge themselves lives that they loved in those kingdoms, but I’d reach out soon myself to make sure.

Kierden said,“We saved each other on multiple occasions. It’s a good way to begin a life together, though I pray to whatever gods still remain that you never have to risk your life for me again.”

My lips curved upward.“I’ll add my prayers to yours, then.”

He chuckled, and we continued walking. My eyes scanned the jungle above us, following the vines and flowers down every tree trunk. My magic had flooded everything with life, making the colors richer and the plants more energetic. The fruit grew thick and rich, the vegetables monstrous and full of flavor.

Like the jungle, I was still the same as I’d been in my mother’s town. I had the same breath in my lungs and heart in my chest, but since I’d come to Jirev, I’d been brought to life.

Thinking of my town… I looked at Kierden. “Did you send your fae to raid my mother?”

His lips curved upward wickedly. “Of course I did.”

I heaved a sigh, but it turned into a laugh as I shook my head. “No one died?”

“Not even your mother. My fae distributed the money and produce among the towns nearby that looked worse for the wear. I wanted to do it myself, but Eisley warned me that you may not forgive me for tearing out your mother’s throat, so I decided to stay.”

“Probably a good choice,” I said with a soft smile. “Thank you. And for what it’s worth, I love you.”

“It’s worth a great deal, little human.” He leaned over and brushed a kiss to my cheek. “And I love you.”

I smiled up at the flowers above me as we continued walking. My magic still emanated from me without my control, but something about it felt settled alongside our mate bond.
